Dr. Donna Reimer-Becker is Jaye Fairchild, author of Queen Elizabeth I: A Vision Transcending Time.
Throughout history, Eve's daughters have endured and protested the harsh conditions of gender-prescribed roles in society. Despite a society sated with superstitions, despite an aristocratic marriage market, despite the victimizing social norms, and despite a denigrating male mindset toward its women, Elizabeth would grow to become the most educated woman in Tudor time. Elizabeth would grow to transcend her gender - to be heard, to be acknowledged, and to be obeyed. Stubbornly and defiantly, she refused to live as a victim of a patriarchal society. For after all, she was Eve’s daughter.
As a queen, Elizabeth threw shoes! Elizabeth lost her temper! Elizabeth swore. And Elizabeth loved and lost! My work continues to explore the Tudor tales in an effort to uncover the person and persona of an elusive monarch who transcended the gender issues of Elizabethan times.

Dr. Roland "Cap" Ehlke (Adult Education/Theology) has published Speaking the Truth in Love to Muslims (Northwestern Publishing House, 2004). The days are long gone when American Christians could think of Muslims only as people who live in faraway lands. Decades of Middle Eastern conflict have brought many Muslims to North America in search of a better life. The result is that Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in America. Here we are free to reach out to them with the gospel.
Muslims can be our neighbors, coworkers, storeowners, or friends. So how do we approach them with the gospel? How do Muslims view the Bible and Jesus? These are just some of the crucial issues that Speaking the Truth in Love to Muslims discusses. Click here to see the accompanying web site.

Angus Menuge is author of Agents Under Fire: Materialism and the Rationality of Science. In the first study of its kind, Agents Under Fire defends a robust notion of agency and intentionality against eliminative and naturalistic alternatives, showing the interconnections between the philosophy of mind, theology, and Intelligent Design. Menuge argues that Behe's irreducible complexity is a challenge to reductionism not only in biology, but also in psychology, and shows the inability of the Darwinian psychology proposed by Dawkins, Dennett, and Steven Pinker to explain the integration, unity, direction, and reliability of rational thought.
This fascinating defense against scientific materialism is the only book-length study relating Intelligent Design to contemporary issues in the philosophy of mind. Drawing on his experience as both a philosopher and a computer scientist, Menuge deftly shows the reader that the materialist's attempts to rid science of all commitment to teleology can only result in incoherence, and presents instead his own unique argument for the legitimacy of Intelligent Design.”

Dr. Thomas Wilmeth (English) and Dr. G. Edward Veith (Cranach Institute) co-authored a new book giving an innovative, Christian perspective on a major American cultural phenomenon: Honky-Tonk Gospel: The Story of Sin and Salvation in Country Music (Baker, 2001). One review says: "If you are a music fan, there's a lot in Honky-Tonk Gospel for you...from the Gospel singing groups of the early 20th century all the way to the commercialism and the superstars...at the eve of the 21st...you'll find the unvarnished story of the American people. Country music bluntly depicts real life-life that includes backbreaking work and joyous good times, strong family values and unrestrained carousing, heartfelt piety and spectacular moral failures; in short, the power of sin as well as the greater power of grace. Honky-Tonk Gospel will give you a fresh and fascinating view of the music-and the culture-around us." Available from Amazon.com.
