OUR MISSION
The Concordia Bible Institute exists so that others may hear the Word of God and be richly blessed by it. "Blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it."
In II Corinthians Paul tells us that we are workers together with Christ. Being His workers means that we are literally His hands, His feet, His voice bringing perfect health and life to a diseased, dying world. The Concordia Bible Institute exists for this purpose.
The Concordia Bible Institute offers courses, workshops, and presentations to bring higher learning and certificate programs to the laity of the Church and to edify Church workers.
In Matthew 8:2-4 we are told that Jesus cleansed a leper simply by reaching out and touching him. In a manner of speaking, Christ was restoring a broken connection. In effect, He restored the man's health and soaked up into Himself like a sponge the man's disease. This is what Isaiah meant when he said in chapter 53, "Surely He took upon Himself our infirmities."
Luther says that the entire Bible is wrapped up in this chapter of Isaiah. Please join us as partners in our study of the Scriptures and showing how The Suffering Servant should be the center of all Bible study.
In Matthew 14:36 we are told that people who touched the hem of Christ's garment were made perfectly whole. Studying the Bible is like touching the hem of His garment. Here He restores us by speaking a word of healing to our souls. "Son, daughter, your sins are forgiven."
The gift of wholeness that only God can give is in those words. To be His sons and daughters means that the God of all creation is our Father and we are his children and everything of His is ours. By His suffering and death Christ has purchased the power of the almighty God and put it on our side. The God of heaven and earth is for us, and if God is for us, who or what can be against us. Obviously no one and nothing can be.
This is the central message of the Bible. People need to hear it again and again.
The Concordia Bible Institute exists for the purpose of helping people "touch the hem" of Christ's garment. We invite you to join us in this work by becoming sponsors and partners in the Study of Christ and in sharing Him with the world.
