Dr. Paul Zietlow

Paul H. Zietlow (Ph. D. in Organizational Communication, Ohio State University, 1986) is an Associate Professor of Communication and serves as Chair of the Communication Department. He directs the Business Communication major and serves as Advisor to the Communication Club. In addition, he teaches E-Learning graduate courses in Family Studies, Managerial Communication, and Education Counseling. Dr. Zietlow has two children, David and Annie, and resides in Cedarburg.

Mark J. P. Wolf (Ph.D. in Cinema/Television, University of Southern California, 1995) is an Associate Professor of Communication and directs the Multimedia Major and Mass Communication Major of the Communication Department.  His books include The World of the D?ni: Myst and Riven (forthcoming, 2005), The Video Game Theory Reader (Routledge, 2003), Virtual Morality: Morals, Ethics, and New Media (Peter Lang, 2003), The Medium of the Video Game (2001), and Abstracting Reality: Art, Communication, and Cognition in the Digital Age (University Press of America, 2000).  Dr. Wolf has been at CUW since 1995, and resides with his wife Diane and sons Michael and Christian in South Milwaukee.

Sarah Holtan

Sarah Holtan is an Assistant Professor of Communication and Director of the Public Relations program. She is a doctoral candidate at Marquette University, working on a Ph.D. in Journalism Education. She holds a M.S. in Education from Concordia University Wisconsin (2003). She teaches Spoken Word, Group Dynamics, Journalism, Cross Cultural Communication, and Interpersonal Communication. Her professional experience is in broadcast television news. Before teaching, she was a producer at the ABC affiliate in Milwaukee (WISN-TV, Channel 12) for four years. She lives in Milwaukee with her husband.

Dr. Richard Barnes

 

Dr. Richard Barnes is currently President and co-owner of Barnes Development Group, an executive search firm in Mequon.  Prior to forming the Group, Dr. Barnes was President and co-owner of another national executive search firm.  He entered the field of retained search in 1986.  His daily activities involve persuasive interviewing when making business development calls, counseling when working with clients on an assignment, and selection interviewing when screening candidates for recommendation to clients. 

 

Dr. Barnes previously served as a Chairman for an organization offering personalized consulting and information exchange to Chief Executive Officers of public and private companies.  A former Jayhawk, he moved to Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  While there, he served on the Urban Education Doctorate Committee and taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in organizational communication and small group behavior.  

 

Dr. Barnes received a Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Kansas.  Earlier, he attended Kansas State Teachers College, where he received a Master of Science and Bachelor’s degree in speech and psychology.  His publications include two text books: Dynamics of Small Group Communication, with E. Mabry and Trusting Me, Trusting You, with K. Giffin.  He is also co-author and editor of a curriculum series for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. 

 

A Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Dr. Barnes has provided consulting services to many corporations in the areas of organizational development, strategic planning, executive search and team building.  His clients represent a broad spectrum of manufacturing and service organizations in the midwest
