Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification

Concordia University offers several options for individuals who have already earned a bachelor's degree and who wish to become certified teachers in the state of Wisconsin.

 

Early Childhood Education

Individuals with bachelor’s degrees can pursue licensure in early childhood education (birth through third grade) through Concordia’s graduate program in Early Childhood Education.  Additional information on this program can be found at http://www.cuw.edu/AdultEd_Graduate/programs/education/early_childhood/index.html. 

 

Elementary/Middle School Education

Concordia University offers an adult accelerated post-baccalaureate teacher certification program for individuals who wish to be certified to teach in elementary and middle schools.  Individuals interested in this program must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  This program is available at our Mequon or Madison Campus.  Additional information on this program can be found at www.cuw.edu/considerteaching.

 

 

Middle/Secondary Education

Concordia offers programs at several sites which lead to teach at the middle and high school levels.  In order to be eligible for licensure through one of these graduate or post-baccalaureate programs, a candidate must possess a major in an area licensable by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.  Each of the programs described below are offered in an evening, accelerated format.

 

Graduate Teacher Certification

Graduate Teacher Certification is an advanced post-baccalaureate program for adults seeking certification through graduate coursework.  Individuals interested in this program must have a bachelor's or master's degree in an area licensable by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction from an accredited college or university.  Please click here to view a list of acceptable majors and minors.

 

Graduate Teacher Certification is offered at our Mequon, Green Bay, Appleton, and Wausau Sites.

Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification

Concordia University also offers post-baccalaureate teacher certification to teach middle and high school at our Madison campus.  This program is designed for individuals seeking initial licensure through undergraduate level courses.  Individuals interested in this program must have a bachelor's or master's degree in an area licensable by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction from an accredited college or university. Please click here to view a list of acceptable majors and minors.
