Provides Wisconsin Certification in grades 1-8 (elementary/middle) and grades 6-12 (middle/secondary) in various content areas.
Elementary/middle certification classes meet once a week from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and on seven Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The 22-month program also includes a full-time semester of student teaching. Middle/secondary certification classes meet once a week from 5:00-9:00 p.m. The 16-month program also includes a full-time semester of student teaching.
Elementary/middle cohorts begin each year in September. Middle/secondary cohorts begin each year in February and September.
Admission Requirements
a bachelor's degree with core requirements satisfied (elementary/middle) or a bachelor's degree in one of the certifiable majors (middle/secondary) *additional coursework may be mandated by the Dept of Public Instruction
an overall grade point average of 2.75 with a GPA of 2.75 in any major or minor or other area in which you will be requesting certification
availability and willingness to complete 90 hours of clinical observation prior to student teaching
availability and willingness to student teach full-time during the final semester of the Program
willingness to take the Praxis II: Subject Assessments (Prior to Student Teaching, the Teacher Certification Candidate must receive a passing score for any subject area in which that candidate is expecting licensure.)

Transcipt evaluation and follow up discussion with Program Coordinator.
Complete the application form.
Include a non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
Include a cover letter that states your reasons for pursuing teacher certification.
Have an official PPST score report sent to the proper CUW location.
Have official transcripts from ALL undergraduate/graduate institutions sent to the proper CUW location.
