Overview

The MBA program offered at Concordia University Wisconsin, at the Indianapolis Center offers you the opportunity to accelerate you professional growth by earning a MBA degree while maintaining full-time employment.  Today’s dynamic business climate demands that business professionals be prepared to meet the challenges in many global administrative and business settings.  This MBA program is readily adapted to meet the needs of students from engineering, health, non-profit, religious, and other fields.

 

The evening MBA program is specifically designed for the working professional.  Coursework combines theoretical background with practical knowledge students can use in their jobs.  Taught by practicing business professionals, this cohort based program provides students with a strong foundation in business theory and application.  Course instructors use a mix of lectures, class discussions case studies and other corporate-based models to give students a comprehensive understanding of an increasingly intense international business environment. 

 

Topics of study in the MBA curriculum include quantitative analysis, operations management, organizational behavior, legal and ethical issues, human resource management, and global business policy and strategy.  Strategic management is the capstone course that is taken last in the MBA course sequence.  The capstone course interlinks all aspects of business and corporation management.

 

 

Program Structure

The MBA program requires 39 semester hours of credit compromising 13 courses.  No thesis is required!  Students meet one night a week for 8 weeks.  This allows the program to accommodate a student's professional and personal schedule to the maximum degree possible.  Students can also take classes through our E-Learning format.

 

 

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be met by any student who applies for admission to the MBA program.

  1. A bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college or university;
  2. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for full acceptance;
  3. Two Letters of Recommendation
  4. Current resume
  5. One page essay
  6. Concordia University Wisconsin Graduate Admission Application
  7. $35.00 application fee

 

Prerequisites

Prerequisites courses consist of:

  1. Introduction to Statistics
  2. Principles of Management
  3. Principles of Accounting
  4. Principles of Marketing
  5. Business Finance
  6. Economics (Macro or Micro)

 

Prerequisites courses are undergraduate courses necessary to adequately prepare a student for the MBA program.  It is expected that students will have acquired the basic knowledge of these courses prior to beginning the program.  Concordia University-Indianapolis Center provides these courses through the BA completion sequence.  Students who have completed any of these courses more than five years ago may want to refresh their knowledge by repeating or auditing the class.  One or more of these courses may be waived for students with business/professional experiences.  Please consult with the MBA Program Director for information on waivers.

 

 

Course Transfer Policy

The program will accept up to six (6) hours of transfer credits into the MBA program bases upon the following criteria:

  1. Courses transferred must be comparable in scope and subject matter to courses offered in the MBA program.
  2. Courses transferred must have been completed at the graduate level
  3. Courses must have been completed with at least a 3.000 on a 4.000 scale. Transfer grades will not be used to compute Concordia University Wisconsin Program grades.

The one page essay is about you and should outline of your resume and why you wish to enroll in the Concordia University Wisconsin MBA Program.  It should also:

  1. Outline your strengths and weaknesses and how you believe this program will address them.
  2. Indicate how you will "grow" from this program
  3. List your career goals
  4. Indicate what you would bring to this program
  5. Use accepted writing and grammar rules-no photocopied materials-all should be original
