Are E-Learning Courses for Me?

E-learning courses are done from your home.  They are not in a classroom setting. In most cases a student works one on one with an instructor via email, phone, and fax, some courses are done as a cohort group.  All courses are Web based. 

Before registering for an E-Learning course, please answer these simple questions to judge your readiness for taking courses via E-Learning:

 

  1. Y  N    I am a self-directed, self-motivated, independent learner who will ask for help from the instructor when necessary
  2. Y  N    I have good reading and writing skills for getting directions and information and for completing assignments
  3. Y  N    I have basic computer experience and competence with word processing, e-mail, and Internet browser software
  4. Y  N    I have regular access to a computer with Internet capabilities
  5. Y  N    I know how to send and receive e-mail and I have an email address
  6. Y  N    I know how to attach documents to e-mail
  7. Y  N    I can use the Internet to find information and resources
  8. Y  N    I can download files to my hard drive
  9. Y  N    Do I have all necessary adaptive equipment and/or software? (for students with disabilities)
  10. Y  N    My computer hardware meets the minimum requirementsspecs)
  11. Y  N    My computer software meets the minimum requirements

 

If you answered yes to All of the questions above, then taking a course via E-Learning may be for you!
