MISSION OF THE MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program is based upon the University's stated mission of developing in students the "professional competencies and commitment required for responsible participation and leadership in a complex society". The Program is also based upon the University's Mission of Graduate Education, which recognizes that the bachelor's degree is not adequate as the terminal education point for the professions served by the University.
Concordia University Wisconsin's MBA Program is designed to prepare men and women to meet the challenges of a changing administrative environment. The Program is designed to provide the opportunity of a professional education for the working student. The curriculum provides the broad base of knowledge needed by middle and upper level managers. While the MBA program is designed for those in business professions. It is readily adapted to meet the needs of students from engineering, health, non-profit, religious, and other fields.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The MBA degree requires 39 semester hours of credit comprising 13 courses. No thesis is required for this degree. Students ordinarily take one course at a time. This allows the program to accommodate a student's professional and personal schedule to the maximum degree possible. The capstone course, MBA 590, must be taken at the end of the degree program. Students must complete all requirements for the MBA degree within five (5) years of entry.
ON-CAMPUS LEARNING
Students choose from a variety of classes offered each term. Each course meets for one four-hour sessions per week, for eight weeks. The four hour session is scheduled for either a weekday evening or Saturday morning. Total time needed to complete the Program is 20-22 months. Periodic adjustments will be made for holiday periods.
E-LEARNING
E-Learning is a limited-residence program designed for the adult learner and is intended to enable persons who may not be located near a graduate institution with the MBA program to pursue this degree.
The MBA program via E-Learning is available all online with the exception of a one week residency requirement.
Students may begin their first course at anytime upon approval in to the program. Each course is designed to be completed in 8-10 weeks. Communication and homework is generally done electronically. Required textbooks for each course are available for purchase through the CUW bookstore upon registration for a course. We offer online order through our library for other resources and we have an E-Learning librarian that is available to assist you.
VIDEO CONFERENCING
Pursue your MBA through video conferencing. Our video conference system allows us to connect multiple classroom locations with audio and visual streams in real time. This provides students with more choices of classes, and the flexibility to take classes at alternate locations that otherwise would not be available for them.
