Nursing Student Awards
The Wisconsin League for Nursing and Blue Cross Blue Shield Wisconsin are pleased to announce the creation of a new scholarship program designed to help address the critical nursing shortage and provide financial assistance to aspiring nurses throughout the state.
The scholarships are for Wisconsin students who have completed at least one half of the credits necessary for graduation from MSN, BSN, ADN or LPN programs in Wisconsin. The school must be either a National League for Nursing (NLN) member or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Scholarships will range from $500 to $1000 for selected candidates.
We are offering your school the opportunity to select 4 students in the RN program and 2 students in the LPN program to be nominated for these scholarships. At Blue Cross Blue Shield Wisconsin's request, we encourage you to include ethnic minority students in your nominations. To apply for the scholarship, students must contact their dean for an application and write a one page letter to assist the WLN Scholarship Committee in making their selection. The student should address the following areas:
- Scholastic ability
- Professional activities and/or community service
- Understanding of the nursing profession
- Goals upon graduation
