            Kenneth Harris, Jr. is a native of Chicago, Illinois and has been a resident of Wisconsin since 1993.  He holds two Bachelor degrees in Mass Communication and Criminal Justice from Illinois State University and Concordia University Wisconsin, respectively.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University Wisconsin, concentrating in Finance and Risk Management.  Currently, he is a doctoral student in Leadership Studies at Marian College.  He is entering his 15th year in law enforcement and is a Patrol Sergeant with the Milwaukee Police Department Patrol Bureau.

            He has over twenty years experience as Adjunct University and College Faculty, experience as a Recruit and Adjunct/In-Service Instructor, Patrol/Field Training Sergeant, traffic accident investigator, and holds several state instructor certifications, including Ethics.  He formerly served in the capacity of Milwaukee Police Department Public Information Officer and enjoys nearly three decades of experience in broadcast communications.     

            Ken is active in the Milwaukee community. He sits on and has served as president of several foundation boards in the area. His volunteer service includes the March of Dimes, Milwaukee Relay For Life, and Parklawn YMCA.

            Awards and citations include a Merit Arrest Citation for capturing Armed Robbery suspects, a Mayor’s Office Community Service Letter of Appreciation: Richard M. Daley, Office of the Mayor, Chicago, Illinois, two Silver Dome Award: 2nd Place Award-Best Single Public Affairs Program-Illinois Broadcasters Association and 3rd Place Award for Excellence in Broadcasting-Illinois Broadcasters Association, and Distinguished Award of Community Service from WGN-Tribune Broadcasting Company and the Church Federation of Greater Chicago.

            Affiliations include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Life Member, Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, Incorporated, National Service Fraternity – Life Member, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Broadcasting Local 715, National Information Officers Association, National Eagle Scout Association, Life Member, and the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer’s Association. 

            Ken resides in the Sherman Park community with his wife and two daughters.
