Julie (Chojnacki) Buuck (1985, AA, Medical and Legal Secretary) has joined CUW part-time as admissions counselor for portions of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, operating out of a Detroit area office. Julie says that after 14 years as a �domestic engineer� she is returning to the workforce. Her husband Steve Buuck (1985, BA, Lutheran Secondary Education; 1992, MS, Education) is principal of Lutheran High School North in the Detroit area. They are parents of a daughter and two sons.
Craig McCourt (1986 BA, Lay Ministry) and his wife Shirley rejoice at the adoption of their Son Noah John McCourt. Bringing a new 8 year-old into the house has presented lots of struggles and blessing for the family and for big brother Isaiah (11). Craig currently serves as Minister of Christian Growth and Director of Student Fire Youth Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church & School in Waconia, Minnesota. Rev. David Bernard (1989 Alum) and his wife Ruth are very proud to announce the birth of their first grandchild, Hannah Marlene Bernard, born November 21, 2002. David and Ruth are currently living in Cohocton, New York.
Julie (Heimsoth) Irelan has joined CUW as part time Church Representative Coordinator. She joins her husband, Rev. Christopher Irelan (1989, BA, Pre-Seminary), who is Director of Estate and Gift Planning at CUW. They adopted two children in 1999, Connor (5), who is originally from Albania, and Kelsey (4), who is originally from China. The story of their adoption was featured in an article in the News Graphic. They are at home in Grafton, Wisconsin.
Richard Twietmeyer (1987 Alum) has been named President of Fitzgerald, Clayton, James & Kasten, Inc. Richard has been with the company since 1990. He most recently served as Vice President and Sales Manager, and he will retain his responsibilities as Sales Manager. Richard lives in Cedarburg, WI with his wife, Deb and children, Clarie, Hannah and Abby.
Rev. Wayne Braun (1980, AA, Pre-Seminary) who served as Campus Pastor at CUW from 1997-2001 accepted a call to serve as Senior Pastor of Lamb of God Lutheran Church, Flower Mound, Texas.
Peter Jundt (1985, BA, Business) joined Bukacek Construction Co., Racine, Wisconsin as a Project Manager / Estimator. Most recently, he was a Senior Special Projects Manager for Corporate Strategic Services, Dublin, Ohio. Prior to that he ran a family construction company, Woodland Custom Homes, Sussex, Wisconsin. He and his wife Heidi (Hagedorn) Jundt (1987, BA, Lutheran Elementary Education) home school their two boys, Isaac (6) and Jacob (3), and generally exhaust themselves in an effort to keep up with them! Rev. Thomas Eggebrecht (1986, BA, Liberal Arts) preached the funeral sermon for Dr. Walter Jennrich, who served on the faculty of Concordia for over 40 years. This sermon, titled �E - I - P - N - V - N� after the Greek word for �peace,� is available on the CUW theology department web site at www.cuw.edu/theology under �Publications.� Thomas is currently pastor of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, where numerous Concordia faculty are members, including President Ferry. Thomas and his wife Tamara Eggebrecht (1987, Lutheran Education Colloquy) are pictured with their children Ashlyn (12) and Benjamin (10) at the recent celebration of the tenth anniversary of his ordination.
Ward Alles (1989, BA, Mass Communications) is partner in the marketing firm Core Creative, which for the second year in a row was named a �Future 50� company by the Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce and The Business Journal of Milwaukee. Founded in 1994, Core Creative has grown rapidly to become a leading marketing firm in the Milwaukee area. Ward and his wife Cheryl (Buuck) Alles (1990, BA, Lutheran Secondary Education) are at home in Pewaukee, Wisconsin and have four children, Lauren (10), Cassidy (8), Caleb (3) and Logan (2).
Sarah (Schultz) Marcis (1989, BA, Lutheran Elementary Education) and her husband Steve announce the birth of their fourth child, Annica Clara-Louise, on August 6, 2001. She joins Audree (3), Alayne (4) and Andrew (6). Sarah recently completed a one-year call to Trinity Lutheran Church (WELS), Marshfield, Wisconsin and this year is home schooling Andrew. Joan (Johnson) Scholz (1989, BA, Business) joins CUW as Controller/Director of Accounting. Her responsibilities include internal control, accounts receivable, tax reporting and returns, audit preparation, and the annual budget process. A Certified Public Accountant, her previous employers included Price Waterhouse and M&I Data Services. She lives in Cedarburg with her husband Jay and daughters Rachel (7) and Amber (4) and is active in First Immanuel Lutheran Church..
Trey Cox (Alum 1986 BA and 1997 MS) was chosen the 2002 MIL Fellow for the Maricopa County Community College District. He is currently a college professor at Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Chandler, AZ. He said, "I am so thankful that I attended CUW and believe that the education I received there is one of the greatest blessings I have had in my life!" Trey and wife, Janell (Alum 1987, Janell Grage) reside in Gilbert, AZ.
