Mark and Kellie(Zastrow) Meerstein (Alum '93): Mark and Kellie welcomed their fourth child, Alexandria Kellie, into the world on October 9, 2006.  She was 9 lbs 1 oz and was 20.5 inches long.  She joins big sister Morgan 8, and big brothers Samuel 5, and Elijah 1 1/2.  Kellie continues to coach varsity softball at New Lutheran in Green Bay.  Mark teaches at New Lutheran School and continues to coach freshman VB and varsity boy's basketball. 

 

 

Mark (Alum '96) and Erin (Triuklein, Alum '97) Hoehner:  Mark and Erin have two children.  Micah who is three years and Isaiah who is one.

Bernell Hooker (Alum '95):  Hooker is the founder and CEO of a girl's and women's sports organization called Images of Us (IOU) Sports.  It is a nonprofit organization educating girls and women through sports.  It was just announced that IOU Sports will host a WNBA exhibition game between the Chicago Sky and the Washington Mystics May of 2007.

 

 

 

Kevin (Alum '94) and Lisa (Kammrath) Dierks (Alum '94): Lisa and Kevin welcomed their third child, Marcus John, on April 8, 2005.  He joins big brother Michah(7) and big sister Morgan (5).  Kevin also just recently accepted the principal position at Cross Lutheran School ('06-'07) in New Braufels, Texas.  Lisa continues to be a stay-at-home mom.

 

Henryk Zysko (Alum '97): moved to Toronto Canada in 2004 to open up an office for Eastern Canada for Accredited Home Lenders.  He is married to Linda A. Zysko a CUW MBA grad of 1998.  They have two children Alex (9) and Natalia (5).

 

Gina(Becker, Alum '97) and John Zarling: Moved six years ago to Phoeniz, AZ.  They have a very energic 15 month old named Ty.  Gina is beginning law school in the fall and hopes to graduated by 2009.

 

Aaron and Liz (Franz) Temple (Alum '99):  Proudly anounce the birth of their son, Benjamin John Temple. Ben was born January 26, 2006 weighing 7 pounds and 15oz. Ben joins his big sister Abby at home.  The Temple family reside is Rockford, Il and can be reached at  Eliza_Temple@yahoo.com.           

 

Leah (Kangas, Alum '95) and Rev. Allan Wierschke:  Were married on June 25, 2005 at St Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert, WI.  They live in Blackduck, MN where Allan is a pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

 

 

 

Gigi Marteney( Alum 1991): and her husband Rick married in 1997 and relocated to sunny Phoenix, AZ in 2000.  They are currently in the process of adopting a little girl from China, her name is "Ally".  Gigi works as a mental health therapist/ clinical supervisor with children.

 

Andrew (Alum '99) and Suzanne (Birkholz, Alum '99)Tomashewsky: Andrew and Suzanne have graduated from Towson University in Towson, MD with Master degrees in Elementary Education.  Suzanne emphasized middle school language arts and Andrew's was in administration.  They continue to teach at Saint Paul Lutheran School in Kingsville, MD.  In addition Andrew graduated form SLED (School Leadership Development).

 

Patrick and Ellen Vanic (Alum '97,'96): Welcome home a baby boy David Thomas Vanic.  He was born March 31, 2006.  Ellen is staying home taking care of the boys and Patrick is a teacher/coach at Milwaukee Lutheran High School.

 

 

 

Todd H. Bauer (Alum 1994):  Todd was a part of a team of journalist from WWL-TV to win the 2005 Peabody Award, and Edward R Murrow Award for the coverage of Hurricane Katrina.

 

Michelle Sieg (Alum 1998);  Michelle is associate creative director at Zizzo Group Advertising and Public Relations in Milwaukee.  She concepts, writes and directs healthcare communication campaigns for medical centers throughout the country.  Since joining the Zizzo Group in 2001, she has also won advertising awards for local companies and non-profits.  She can be reached at siegrams7@yahoo.com.

 

Rev. Matthew and Karla (Struve) Roeglin(Alum 1996): Are proud to announce the birth of their 5th child, Emily Katelyn Grace was born on May 18th, 2006.  She weighed 8 lbs. 4oz and was 21 inches long.  She joins brothers Jacob (8), Zachary (6), and Joshua(2), and sister Abigail (3.5).

 

Nita A Stika (Alum, 1991):  Nita has recently completed a PhD in Human Services/ Health Care Administration.  She first graduated from CUW in the Medical Assistant Program in 1981, and later received a BA in the Health Care Admnistration Program in 1991.  She has been on the adult education faculty since 1993, and earned "Teacher of the Year" award in 2000.  Nita has recently accepted a position as Academic Dean for Herzing College online.

 

Kimberly(Thorley, Alum 1997) Tietyen: Kimberly has been employed at the Bradley Foundation since 1998.  She meet her husband Jeremy Tietyen while at CUW, he transfered to MATC to get his FF/EMT degree.  They were married November 2000 in Marinette, WI.  They have three children Jacob (6/29/02), Benjamin (03/3/04) and Caroline (10/13/05).

 

 

Kelli (Alum '96) and Chad Grasse: Kelli and Chad announce the birth of their son Logan, born Friday May 19, 2006.  He was 7 lbs and 8 oz and was 20 inches long.  Both are doing well.

 

 

 

 

Debra (Miller, Alum 1996) Hain:  Debra graduated in 2002 with a Master in Nursing/ Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and in 2006 with a Doctor of Nursing Science.  Dr Hain will begin an academic career as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University in the fall of 2006.

 

Charlie Shao(Alum 1994) and Jenny: Announce the birth of their son, Jason Shao.  Jason was born May 10, 2006 and weighed 6'13".  The family resides in Port Washington WI and can be reached at shao.charlie@gmail.com

 

Jim(Alum '99) and Amy(Olyniec Alum '98) Canapa:  Amy and Jim welcome home Brenden James Canapa.  He was born on April 18, 2006 he was 6'13". Brenden joins his big sister Kailyn who is four.  Dr. Sally Canapa is the proud grandma.

 

Lamar and Isabella Hardwick(Alum 1999):  Have welcomed home a son Malachi, born June 29th, 2005.  Isabella is currently employed at Atherogenics in the drug safety department, Lamar has graduated from Emory University's Candler School of Theology in May 2006 with Master of Divinty.  He is currently employed as a youth pastor at Powers Ferry United Methodist Church, the family reside in Acwoth GA.

 

Becca(Bell) Boppre(Alum 1999):  Becca and her husband Bill welcomed home Abigail Elin into their family on September 13, 2005.  Abby was 9lbs and 1oz and 22 inches long.  She joins her big brother Caleb(2 yrs) and is bringing lots of smiles to the growing family.  Proud uncles are JJ(Alum 2004) and James(current student)Bell. Grandparents are Dennis and Dr. Marji Bell (Art Department).  Becca works part time as an RN for Columbia-St Mary's and Bill works for UWM Athletic Depatment.  The Boppre's reside in Glendale, WI and can be contacted at bboppre@sbcglobal,net

 

 

 

Meg Christy(Alum 1998):  Meg is delighted to announce her recent marriage to Scott J Stocker on October 1, 2005 in Phoenix, Az.  Scott and Meg have known each other since elementary school.  Meg continues as a pediatric occupational therapist at Phoenix Children's Hospital and Scott is in civil engineering.  The two just bought a new home in Cave Creek, AZ.  Meg can be reached at ot4pedz@yahoo.com

 

 

 

Ashley Rhines(Alum 1999):  Ashley was married to Jessi, September 24th 2005.  Ashley is working as an engineering /survey technician for development in and around the state of WI.  Jessi is a nurse for the state of WI, they just bought a house in Pickett WI and are busy fixing it up.

 

James Wagner(Alum 1999):  Jamie is married to Rebecca and they are expecting their third child in May 2006.   They are living in Tennessee and Jamie is running his father's business.

 

Keller, Kevin(Alum 1995):  Kevin is the Director of Mission Advancement at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.  He is the first Advancement officer at WLS, and is laying the foundation for continued financial support for the preparation of future WELS pastors.

 

Don and Tyleen Stults(Alum 1990):  Have welcomed their fourth child Isaac Wesley Alan on April 26th. 2005.  He joins two big sisters Grace and Faith and big brother Evan.  Don serves as pastor at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Monte Vista, CO.

 

Stephanie (Becker) Wright (Alum 1999)  Recently married Ken Wright on Sept. 17th.  Ken and Stephanie reside in Demark WI.  Stephanie is working at Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc WI and is going back to school for a PTA.

 

Kellie (Zastrow) and Mark Meerstein (Alum 1993)  Have welcomed their third child in January of 2005. Elijah Mark was born January 17, 2005. They live in Green Bay, where Mark is a Business teacher at New Lutheran High School and coaches freshman volleyball, and Varsity basketball. Kellie is at home with Elijah and two older children Morgan who is 6 and Samuel who is 4 and coaches Varsity softball.

 

John A Ballos ( Alum 1996, MA 1998, JD 2001) Since graduating in 1996, John continued his education at Marquette University, and went on to law school at Syracuse University. Currently John is a Deputy County Attorney in the major felony section of the Yuma County Attorney's office. John can be reached @john.ballos@co.yuma.az.us 

 

 

Cheesebrough Baby 2005Carle (Wenthur, Alum 1997) Cheesebrough and husband, Ted  had their first child born on April 27, 2005.  Charles Craig Cheesebrough; he weighted 7lbs. 90z - 20.5 inches.  The Cheesebrough family live in St. Paul, MN.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mary (Kaat, Alum 1994) Swihart and husband, Randy, on March 17, 2005 welcomed their third child, Connor David Swihart.  He weighted in at  7lbs 7oz and 21.5 in.  He was also welcomed by his brother Jake (9) and sister Ashley (4).

 

 

David Lanska 8.05David Lanska (Alum 1996, MBA 2000) was awarded FTA Presidents Award.  David received the award for his work on various FTA committees and projects including the FTA Environmental Committee and his work as an Environmental Excellence Award judge.  Flexographic Technical Association is the most prominant technical association for the flexographic printing industry.  David works for Stork Cellramic, Inc. as a Technical Sales Manager.  David and his family reside in West Bend, WI.

 

 

Marthaler baby 8.05

Justin (Alum 1997) and Dana (Kenyon, Alum 1998) Marthaler would like to announce they adopted a daughter, Camryn SungHwa Marthaler.  She was born August 5, 2004 in Seoul, South Korea.  The family brought Cami home on January 27, 2005.  Camryn joins brother Benjamin, age 2.  The Marthaler's are living in Madison, WI.  Justin works for Strand Associates in Madison and Dana works for Midwest Airlines in Oak Creek.  They can be contacted at marthaler17@hotmail.com.  

 

 

C.Dumais 8.05Carol Dumais (Alum 1994, MBA 1997) has been appointed Director of Medical Staff Relations at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.  Carol has over 15 years of health care experience, including health care marketing, management, business development and physician and community relations.  Carol and her family reside in Mequon, WI.

 

 

 

Rolf (Alum 1997) and Leslie Zersen are proud to announce the birth of a daughter,  Olivia Ann, born December 30, 2004 at 1:46 a.m. At birth, Olivia weighed 6lbs. 7oz. and measured 21 inches. Steven Karas (Alum 1997) was recently promoted to Director of Supply Chain Management at Plymouth Foam Inc. in Plymouth, WI.  The group consists of customer care, production scheduling, purchasing and shipping.  Plymouth Foam is a national provider of innovative foam products with manufacturing locations in Wisconsin, Ohio and Minnesota.

 

Rev. Nathan (Alum 1996) and Sarah (Vrhovnik, Alum 1996) Esala and their two daughters (Karissa and Annaka) live in Ghana, where they serve in translation ministry among the northern Konkomba people. Sarah recently wrote an article entitled "The Chicken, the Snake, and the Missionary" which can be found on-line at www.gospelcom.net/lbt/stories/journal.htm or in the Messenger, Winter 2005 edition.  

 

Julie (Zastrow, Alum 1999) and husband Matthew (Alum 1998) Schelk are proud to announce Schelk Babythe birth of a daughter, Abigail Lynn, born November 14, 2004. Julie & Nathan AndrewsOn August 14, 2004 Julie (Hinrichs, Alum 1998) married Nathan Andrews in Racine WI. Included in the wedding party were many CUW graduates; Paul Hinrichs (Alum 1997), Sandra (Brunk) Hinrichs (Alum 1998), Jaime (Ochowicz) Dick (Alum 1998), Heather (Bartelt) Burtman (Alum 2000), Julie (Gorkowski) Rettschlag (Alum 1998), Jessica Luedtke (Alum 1998) and Shari Bartz (Alum 1998). In February 2004, Maria (Blinten, Alum 1994) Sell and her husband Brian welcomed the birth of their son, Owen Robert. He weighed 8.5 pounds and was 21.5 inches long.  Owen's "best friend" is Cohen Carpenter, son of Aaron Carpenter (Alum 1995) and his wife Joyce (CUW student 1991-1993).  The Sells and the Carpenters got together for a visit in Wisconsin during the summer of 2004.  The Sells live in Racine, WI and their email is Mariaasell@juno.com. Christy (Koukas, Alum 1994) Schmidt and her husband Jason also joined the Sells and Carpenters during their Wisconsin vacation. The Schmidts reside in Elgin, IL.

 

Carol Dumais (Alum 1994) was recently appointed Director of Medical Staff Relations at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Milwaukee WI. She is responsible for directing administrative activities in the area of medical staff relations and medical staff affairs. Carol holds both a master's degree in Business Administration and a bachelor of arts degree in Management and Communications from Concordia.

Benjamin Vanic

 

Patrick (Alum 1997) and Ellen (Anger, Alum 1996) Vanic are pleased to announce the birth of their son Benjamin Patrick Vanic.  Benjamin was born on June 24th 2004, he weighed 8-13 and was 22.5in long. Tara (Thomas, Alum 1998) O'Leary and husband, Jason, were blessed with the birth of their first child, Klaire Meagan O'Leary on December 20, 2003. Prouty BabyDallas Robert Emmitt Prouty was born on September 23, 2004 to Elizabeth Gonzalez Prouty (Alum, 1998) and Jayson Prouty. He weighed 4 lbs 7 oz and he was 18" long.  The Prouty's live in St. Peters, MO.

 

Penny (Schneider, Alum 1997) Clark and husband Tony are please to announce the birth of twins to their family. Morgan Jeanne and Grace Elizabeth were born on April 22, 2004 after 9 weeks of bed rest and lots of close watching by a whole lot of doctors. "They were little miracles born at 4 lb. 8 oz. and 3 lb. 8 oz. They are now growing like crazy and big brother AJ (3 1/2) and big sister Carissa (1 1/2) are enjoying them. They all keep mom very busy. My husband, Tony, is an enlisted member of the United States Navy. Currently he is getting his business degree at the University of Colorado and he will then be commissioned as an officer. I'd love to hear from old friends! darlinot@juno.com."

 

Jason Block (Alum 1993) and wife Sarah announce the birth of their son Andrew Richard, born on June 2, 2004. He and big brother Aaron are keeping Jason and Sarah busy. Daniel Davis "I am a 1995 CUW grad serving in Operations in Iraqi Freedom. ...  I am an Air Force C-130 transport pilot flying troops and cargo around the theater of operations."  (This message was received on Monday, July 5th directly from Daniel.)  "My wife Tracey is a 1999 CUW graduate with a Master's of Occupational Therapy degree and lives in Savannah, Georgia with our one year old son, Kieran Jack.  Tracey treats premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Chandler Medical Center."  Prayers for Daniel, other alumni, all serving in the military and their families are most welcome.  Daniel's email address is danielqdavis@bigfoot.co.  Tracey's email address is umeusforever@yahoo.com.

 

Meg Christy (1998, BS Occupational Therapy)  has spent the last five years as an occupational therapist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and recently accepted a position as Lead Occupational Therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Phoenix Children's Hospital. "I was excited to accept the position not only for the leadership opportunity, but also for the opportunity to return to my hometown and family. Morgan Buss
Randall Buss (1993, BA Business; Computer Science) and Joely (Kort) Buss (1992, BA, Elementary Education) welcomed their daughter Morgan Amanda Buss on December 30, 2003.  She joins big brother Connor, 3, at their Oostburg, Wisconsin home.  Randy is employed by Donohue & Associates in Sheboygan.  Joely is enjoying life as a stay at home mom and substitute teaches occasionally.  Their e-mail address is joelybuss@aol.com.

The Hackbarths
Tracey (Norenberg, Alum 1994) and Richard Hackbarth announce the birth of their fourth child, John David Hackbarth.  He was born on January  27, 2004. He is well loved by Abigail (9), Thomas (7), and Samuel (4). Rich continues to work at Delta U.S.A. and Tracey just finished her MA in Education on May 16, 2004. She teaches 1st grade at Trinity Lutheran in Monroe, MI.

 

Mina K. Tepper, President of the Jewish Home and Care Center and Chai Point has announced that Jeri Stroiman (Alum Jary Stroiman1997) has joined the staff as Marketing Coordinator. A graduate of Concordia University, Jeri most recently was co-owner of "A Gift of Time", a business specializing in assisting individuals either restricted by time or by physical ability. Jeri will be coordinating marketing efforts for the Sarah Chudnow Campus, which is currently under construction in Mequon and will provide a myriad of services including rehabilitation, assisted living and independent senior living. Jeri also will be marketing the Chai Point, Jewish Home and Care Center and the Lakeside Senior Enrichment Program, all of which are located on the Prospect Avenue Campus.

Caleb William Bopre

 

 

Becca (Bell) Boppre (1999, BS Nursing) and her husband Bill are excited to welcome Caleb William into their family.  He was born November  9, 2003, weighing a hefty 10 lbs. 5 oz. and was 22 inches long.  Becca is enjoying staying home with Caleb while working part time as a Registered Nurse while Bill works as an Aquatics Director in Waukesha. The Boppre family lives in Glendale, WI, next door to proud grandparents Dennis and Dr. Marji Bell, and Uncles JJ (2004, BS, Social Work), and James (current CUW student).

 


Mark (Alum 1997) and Holly (Obert, Alum 1996) Shane joyfully welcomed their daughter Ellie Kathryn into their family on January 27, 2004.  She joins her sister Anna Grace (2 1/2 years).

Carla Struve - Matt Roeglin babyRev. Matthew and Karla (Struve) Roeglin (Alum 1996) announce the birth of their son Joshua Benjamin Daniel Roeglin.  He was born at 1:27 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2004.  He weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 inches long.  Joshua is the Roeglin's 4th child.  He has brothers Jacob (6) and Zachary (4) and sister Abigail (1.5). Jennifer (Krueger, 1994) and Scott (1995) Boris announce the birth of their daughter, Marissa Mae.  Marissa was born on Thursday, October 30th and she weighted 9 lbs., 12 oz. Masako Nakamura (Alum 1999) On September 5, 2003, Masako played her fourth and final recital for her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Masako is a graduate of our Master of Church Music program and a former member of The Alleluia Ringers. All she has to complete is her thesis for her degree. On Sunday, Feb. 15th, Masako will be playing here at Concordia as a part of our Organ Recital Series.

 

Maris KosterMaris Koster (Adult Ed. Alum 1998) has been named 2003 Paralegal of the Year by the Paralegal Association of Wisconsin. Marie is a Paralegal with the law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP. Most recently Marie served as president of the Paralegal Association of Wisconsin. Marie focuses her work in the areas of trust and estates, taxes and fiduciary accounting. She has been with Quarles & Brady for nearly five years. Marie is a member of the National Association of Paralegal Associations, American Alliance of Paralegals Inc., State Bar of Wisconsin, American Bar Association, and the Kenosha Guardianship Program. She is also a member of the paralegal task force of the State Bar, which is working to create licensure of paralegals in Wisconsin. Marie resides in Waterford, WI.

 

Jeremy Normington (Alum 1999) is the Physical, Medical and Rehabilitation Director for Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa.

Kevin Bodey (Alum 1991) married Jodi B. Bodey 2/7/01. We have two children Grace 11, and Jacob 9. Jodi adopted them 5/15/02. We live in Belvidere Il. I am currently employed at Daimler Chrysler. We are very active at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Rockford, IL. We hope to reenter seminary in several years after my tenure with chrysler is up. We would love to hear from any alumni. Bryan E. Buchholz (Alum 1991) joined St. Lorenz Lutheran Church of Frankenmuth, MI and Brookfield Lutheran Church in Brookfield, WI, on an 8 day mission trip to Haiti. He and thirty-nine other team members were working on constructing a multipurpose building and offering medical clinics. The building will house a church, elementary school, and medical center, which is located in Cap Haitian. The medical clinics offered much needed medical attention in Cap Haitian and Jeremie. Janine (Kruzel, Alum 1994) and Mark Brzezicki announce the birth of their son Zachery Mark Brzezicki.  Zachery was born April 1, 2003 and weighed 9 lbs 4 oz. and he was 20 1/2 inches long.  The Brzezecki currently reside in Chicago IL.

Kelli (Snyder, Alum 1996) and Chad Grasse welcome the birth of their son, Brandon James Grasse.  Brandon was born April 4, 2003 and weighed 8lbs. 7oz.  The Grasse Family are all doing very well.

 

Roger and Kirstin (Hackbarth) Meier (both 1994 graduates) are currently living in Plymouth, WI. Roger is teaching Science and Math to grades 5-8 at St. John Lutheran in Plymouth. Kirstin stays at home with their 2 daughters, substitute teaches preschool, and is an Avon Independent Sales Representative. Karahlyn is 5 1/2 and Reidun is 2 years old. James Burkee (1990, BA, Business) passed the defense of his dissertation and was awarded the Ph.D. from the History Department, Northwestern University.  He and his wife Susan (Corona) Burke (1991, BA, Business) live in Bronxville, New York where he is currently Assistant Professor of History at Concordia College.

 

Richard Sackett (1990, BA, Business) was named Manager of the Data Warehousing and Analysis Team for the cabinetry, tile, interiors and hospitality business within the Kohler Co.  He joined the company in 1996 and was most recently Manager of Network Services for Kohler’s Baker Furniture division.


Robert Campbell (1992, BA, Business) and Kathryn (Burkee) Campbell announce the adoption of Eliana Hope on September 5, 2002.  She was born on April 3, 2001 and joins big brother William (4). Robert is Controller and Treasurer of Cera-Mite Corporation and Kathryn is a stay at home mom.  They are at home in Grafton, Wisconsin and their email is bcampbell@execpc.com.

 

Demond Means (1994, BA, Secondary Education) has been named Director of Human Resources for the Wauwatosa [Wisconsin] School District.  He was previously principal of Maple Dale Elementary School and Associate Principal of Nicolet High School, both in suburban Miluwaukee, and a teacher at Homestead High School, Mequon, where he was named “Teacher of the Year.”  He has also resumed service at CUW as part time minority coordinator.  His email address is meansde@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us.


Rev. Peter Hoft (1996, BA, Pre-Seminary) and Bethany (Hoelz) Hoft (1997, BA, Lutheran Secondary Education) are at home in Collinsville, Illinois where Peter is Associate Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Bethany teaches mathematics at Metro East Lutheran High School, Edwardsville.  They were blessed with a son, Nathan Christopher, on May 7, 2002.  Their email address is revhoft@hotmail.com.

 

Mae Killebrew (1996, BA, Management and Communication) has been named the secretary of the Board of Directors of Milwaukee Area Technical College.  She is Vice President of Human Resources at Briggs and Stratton.

 

Barry Kloepping (1997, MS, Student Personnel Administration) is employed in the CUW Graduate Admission Office.  He married Sheila Tenpas on November 9, 2002 in Gibbsville, Wisconsin. They are at home in Port Washington, Wisconsin.

 

James Canapa (1999, BA, K-12 Lutheran Education) and Amy (Olyniec) Canapa (1998, BA, Secondary Education) welcomed their daughter Kailyn Grace Canapa to the world on June 5, 2002.  She weighed in at 6 lbs. 15 oz.  Dr. Sally Canapa of CUW’s English department is the proud grandmother.

 

Lt. Joel Rockemann (1999, BA, Justice and Public Policy) is in the Marines, stationed at Twenty-Nine Palms, California.  He married his wife Ingrid on May 25, 2002.


Aaron Temple (1999, BS, Engineering) and Elizabeth (Franz) Temple (1999, BA, Lutheran Secondary Education) would like to introduce their daughter Abigail Katherine Temple who was born July 6, 2002.  She weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.  Aaron works for Motorola and Liz is a stay-at-home mom while tutoring math on the side in Rockford, Illinois.  Their e-mail address is Eliza_Temple@yahoo.com.

 

Sarah (Hinrichs) Vollman (1999, BA, Lutheran Elementary Education) married William Vollman on March 16, 2002.  They are at home in Boca Raton, Florida.  Her husband teaches at Trinity Lutheran Church in Delray Beach and she is seeking employment.


David A. Clarke (1999, BA, Management of Criminal Justice) won election as Milwaukee County Sheriff. He was initially appointed to the position by Gov. Scott McCallum in March, 2002 and then ran for the position, winning both the Democratic primary and the general election. He proudly displays his CUW diploma in his office and says of his Concordia education, “It was fantastic!”  An article about his inauguration in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted that Clarke “has been mentioned as a possible mayoral candidate in 2004.”

 

Todd (Alum 1990) and Theresa Huebner announce the adoption of their daughter Taylor Christine.  Taylor Christine was born on July 27, 2002; the Huebner's traveled to Colombia for the adoption.  The Huebner family currently reside in Brookville, NY.


Maria (Blinton) Sell (Alum 1994) married Brian Sell on November 9, 2002.  Maria is a Middle School Guidance Counselor at Oak Creek West Middle School.  The Sell's are currently living in Racine, WI.

 

Jennifer Stough (Alum 1996)  (direct quote from Jennifer) "I am the proud mother of my two year old son, Zachary Lance Stough. I am living in Whitewater Wisconsin and working in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a Case Manager with the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare."

 

Elizabeth Gonzalez (Alum 1998) married Jayson Prouty on November 29th, 2002. In attendance were Suzanne Gonzalez (CUW grad 2001) and Debbie Gonzalez (current CUW student). Elizabeth and Jason are currently living in Creve Coeur Missouri;  Elizabeth is employed by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as a Lutheran Community Service Specialist.

 

David (1999 Alum) and Valerie Federwitz (2000 Alum) would like to introduce you to their daughter Michaela Elizabeth.  Michaela was born on November 13, 2002 and weighed in at 8 lbs. and 20.5 inches.  The Federwitz family live in Milwaukee, WI.

 

Janet Van Epps (MS Alum 1994) Senior Recruiter with Markent Personnel, Inc. in Portage Wisconsin recently earned 5 star status from Top Echelon Inc., the world’s largest and most successful network of independent recruitment firms. This places her in the top 5% of nearly 2400 professional recruiters affiliated with Top Echelon.  Janet holds a CPC designation from the National Association of Personnel Consultants. She joined Markent Personnel, Inc. in June of 2000. Janet currently resides in Portage, WI.

 

Maureen (Knippel, Alum 1998) Byrne is currently working as a paralegal for the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. Maureen was married on June 15th, 2002, to Andrew Byrne.

Henry (Alum 1991) and Heidi Reimer are pleased to announce the birth of Grace Katherine born on August 12, 2001.  She joins her brother Henry Ethan, age 3.
 

Leo Sanchez (Alum 1995) and Tracy (Von Behren/ Alum 1996) Sanchez are joyfully raising their baby Lucas Antonio.  The Sanchez family is living in St. Louis, MO while Leo completes his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Concordia Seminary.  Tracy is working for Lutheran Hour Ministries in the International Department.


Gigi (Becker / Alum BS 1991 & MS 1994) Marteney is living in Surprise AZ with her husband Rick.  Gigi is working with children as a mental health therapist.

 

Andrea Adams (Alum 1998) is pleased to be teaching at Redeemer / Springfield Lutheran School.  She is the Pre-Kindergarten teacher at the school, Andrea also lives in Springfield MO.

 

Carle Wenthur (Alum 1997) has started her own photography company, C Wenthur Photography in St. Paul, MN www.cwenthur.com. She became a freelance photographer a few years after graduation, she worked primarily sporting events.  January 2000 she moved to Minnesota.  Currently Carle's work involves photographing weddings, portraits, and sports photography .  Carle became engaged Thanksgiving of 2001 and is in the midst of planning a May 2003 wedding in Scotland.
