David (Alum '99) and Valerie Federwitz:  Are very excited to announce the birth of their fourth child and second daughter, JoyAnna Ruth! God Blessed them with her at 7 am on February 8, 2008.  She weighs 8 lbs 7.7oz and is 21.5 inches long.    

 

Becca (Bell, Alum '99) and her husband Bill are enjoying having a busy household with their three children. William Joseph was born October 17, 2007 and joins brother Caleb (4-1/2) and sister Abby (2-1/2). William was 10 lbs, 10 oz and 23 inches long at birth. Becca is now working as an RN in the ICU at Columbia-St. Marys and Bill is still with UWM. Proud family include uncles JJ Bell (Alum 2004) and James Bell (Alum 2007) and Grandparents Dennis and Dr. Marji Bell (Art Department). The busy family can be contacted at bboppre@sbcglobal.net

 

Jon (Alum '96) and wife Jill Nehring: Would like to announce the birth of their daughter Lillian Hope Nehring. She was born via C-section on March 13, 2008 at 12:30pm weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz, 22 inches long. They all are doing well.

 

 

 

David Lanska (Alum '96): Published his first book in2007 entitled "Common Sense Flexography, A user's guide to improved pressroom productivity." The book is slated to be a textbook in trade schools that teach flexographic printing. It is available through Amazon.com. Below is a photo of Lanska standing next to Joe Flexo, (a character from his book) at a press conference announcing the official launch of the book.  Joe emphasizes key points throughout the book and is holding a copy of the book.   

 

 

Dave Groves (Alum '90): Is in Quantico, Virginia attending the FBI National Academy Jan-March 2008.  He was one of 5 command officers picked to represent Wisconsin in the 232nd Session of this school.  There are 285 other police command officers from departments around the US and from 23 foreign countries there with him.  He waited 3 years on the list to get a chance at this.  He is told that less than 1% of all police command officers who apply ever actually get invited to attend.  No one from the Hartford Police Department has attended since the 1950's.

 

Kathleen (Voss, Alum '98) and Michael (Alum '97) Patch:  Announce the birth of their son, Elijah Michael, on August 15, 2007.  He joins his big sister, Jenna
Elizabeth, who is now 3 years old.  Michael recently took a job with Rair Technologies in Brookfield, WI as their Software Development Manager.  He is currently enrolled in the CUW Masters of Information Technology graduate program.  Kathleen is taking a break from teaching high school mathematics to stay home with the kids.  They can be reached at kpatch@wi.rr.com.

Meg (Christy, Alum '98) and Scott Stocker:  Are delighted to announce the birth of their identical twin daughters.  Katherine Elaine (Kate) and Claire Margaret were born on December 17, 2007.  Both girls were 13 inches long and weighed 2 lbs, 3 oz.  The girls were born 13 weeks early and will remain in the newborn intensive care unit until their due date in mid-March.  Both girls are doing well considering how early they were born.  Meg can be reached at ot4pedz@yahoo.com.

Rev. Dr. Leopoldo Sanchez (Alum '95):  Seminary Receives Endowed Faculty Chair in Hispanic Ministry Werner and Elizabeth Krause, longtime friends and neighbors of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, have provided a gift to establish The Werner R.H. and Elizabeth Ringger Krause Chair for Hispanic Ministries at the Seminary. It is the first endowed faculty chair in Hispanic ministry at Concordia Seminary and in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Rev. Dr. Leopoldo A. Sánchez M., assistant professor of systematic theology and director of the Seminary’s Center for Hispanic Studies, is the inaugural occupant of the Chair. The endowed faculty chair was announced by Dr. Dale A. Meyer, president of Concordia Seminary, during the worship service opening the 2007-2008 academic year at the Seminary. At a reception following the service, Elizabeth Krause said, "I hope others will join us in supporting Hispanic ministry in the LCMS and the Seminary's Center for Hispanic Studies." 


 

Gene (Alum '04) and Holly (Truwe, Alum '98) Buerosse: Announce the birth of their second child Noah Abram, in May 2007.  Their first child Andrew is now 2 and loves having a little brother.  Holly is still working at a nursing home and rehab center in Indianapolis and Gene works in the HR and payroll dept at a property management firm called Flaherty & Collins.

 

Julie (Hinrichs Alum '98) and Nate Andrews:  Julie and Nate recently moved back to WI. from Chicago.  They are currently residing in Whitefish Bay where they are enjoying their 1 year old son Tyler.

 

David Yeghiaian (Alum '99): has written a business strategy book, Pieces for Profit (2007, Winners Success Network Publishing). As president and owner of Unique Business Solutions, a strategic business advising firm, the book is based on research with nearly 1,000 organizational leaders and creates a new business model to help high-performing organizations maximize profitability to achieve greater success. Mark Hoehner (Alum '96) and Erin: announce the birth of their third son, Asher Matthew Hoehner, who joins big brothers Micah and Isaiah.  Asher was born on July 25, 2007 weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces.  Mark is the pastor of Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church in St. Peters, MO.

  

 

 

 

Andrew and Suzanne Tomashewsky (both Alum ’99): would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Lillia Rose Tomashewsky.  Lillia was born on April 12, 2007 weighing 7 pounds and 13 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long.  She was baptized on April 29th at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Kingsville, Maryland.  Her grandparents are Ted and Bev Tomashewsky of Webster City, IA and Ted and Karen Birkholz of Clinton Township, MI.   Andrew continues to teach 1st grade at Saint Paul’s.  Suzanne is a stay-at-home mom and adjunct education professor at Towson University.

   

Robert M Powell (Alum '96):  Robert was hired in Feb. 07 as a Disaster Recovery Specialist for Johnson Controls, Inc.  of Glendale, WI.  Robert oversees the disaster recovery planning (and exercising) of the Fortune 75 Company's Milwaukee data center. 

 

Heide Plagemann Bolek (Alum '95):  Heide married William Bolek a year ago.  Bill designs software for Produce Pro, a company based out of Woodridge Il.  Heide and Bill have a house in Greendale, they have a dog "Charlie" and two cats "Spook and Jackson".  Heide took a faculty position in the School of Nursing at MSOE.  She will be teaching 3 theory classes and junior level nursing clinical.  They recently traveled with Heide's parents to England to visit her brother Shawn who is in the Airforce.   

 

Jennifer Clearwater (Alum '96):  After completing an extensive application and exam, Jennifer has successfully earned the distinction of Certified Fund Raising Executive, or CFRE.  A professional distinction that is recongized in five countries and has been achieved by less than 5000 people world wide in the 25 years it's been available.

 

Karl H Miller (Alum '98):  Karl is a Financial Consultant for Thrivent Financial and has two boys Noah and Jonah.

 

Ellen (Anger, Alum '96) and Patrick Vanic (Alum '97):  Patrick is becoming the principal at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Sheboygan, WI.  Ellen is the new 4K teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in Sheboygan.  They will be moving in July.  Ben is now 3 and David is 15 months.

 

Randy Steger (Alum '93):  Randy recently accepted a position at John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa as a Product Support Specialist.

 

Patricia Kapelke (Trish Peterson Alum '93): Jim and Trish moved their family, Hope 6, Kylie 4, and Halie 18 months to the Kansas City area.  Trish accepted a call to serve as a Children and Families Minister at Lord of Life of Leawood, KS.

   

Terry Baughman (Alum '92):  Terry was awarded Teacher of the Year 2007 from Lutheran High School of Indianapolis.  He has accepted a call to serve as Director of Music at Living Word Lutheran Church in Rochester, MI.

  

Connie Gee (Alum '98):  Connie began working at Ethan Allen Boys School.  She received a degree in Social Services from Upper Iowa University and is attending Walden University for a PHD Public Health.  She is currently engaged to Joshua Champion and is getting married in 2008.

 

 

Joelle (Rehberg, Alum ’96) and Matt Holmquist:  In November 2006 they went to China to adopt their daughter, Audrey Faith.  She is now 20 months old.  Their faith grew during this experience and would like to encourage anyone who has thought about adoption to pursue it. They are truly blessed to have Audrey as a daughter.

  

 

 

 

Daniel (Alum '99) and Heather (Strong, Alum '01)

Winter: Announce the birth of their son Ethan Thomas Winter.  He was born February 13th, 2007 weighing 6lbs. 10 oz. and 20 inches long.  He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI on March 4th.  Heather is the 2nd grade teacher for St. Paul's. Godparents are Heidi Dellemann, Christine (Strong) Fiebke and her husband Nathan Fiebke.

 

 

 

 

 

Elizabeth (Gonzalez, Alum '98) Prouty: Elizabeth and her

husband Jayson are proud to welcome their second child into the world. Addison Rae Elaine Prouty was born on March 28, 2007 weighing 5 lbs, 10 oz and was 17" long. Addison joins her big brother Dallas. The Proutys live in Grand Prairie, Texas and Elizabeth is teaching dual language kindergarten for the Irvine School District. Dr. Lisa Ann Haeseler (Alum '91):  Lisa has just completed her Ed.D degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

 

 

John Hosten (Alum'99): John received his doctorate from National University of Health Sciences in 2004.  He married his wife Tina in 2004 and in Oct 2005 they had a baby girl named Alexandra Mary Hosten.  John is working at a health clinic in Warrenville, IL helping those with physical ailments. 

 

 

 

 

 

Rachel (Huebner, Alum '98) Cochran:  Rachel and her husband Lt. Commander Wes Cochran(serving overseas in the Navy), were blessed with the birth of their first child, Silas Paul, on October 4, 2005.  Rachel is working PRN at Shands Trauma Center and Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

 

Karl A Robbins (Alum '95):  Karl is a Police Lieutenant for the Milwaukee Police Department.  He is married and has one daughter. Karl also teaches criminal justice and juvenile justice at Concordia University.

 

Rev. Joel and Delinah (Waning) Howard (Alum '01): Jessica Bethany Lorraine Howard joined big sisters Megan and Melissa on December 14, 2006.  She was born at 1:12 p.m. and was 8 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long.

 

Barry Kloepping (Alum '97):  Barry and his wife Sheila welcome Benjamin Lloyd into their family on September 30, 2006.  Barry teaches social studies and literature at Oostburg Middle School in Oostburg, WI.  Sheila is a speech therapist in Sheboygan.  The Kloeppings reside in Sheboygan Falls, WI.

 

Alvin Sullen (Alum '99):  Alvin and his wife Deborah recently relocated from New Orleans, LA to Albuquerque, NM.  Alvin has accepted a position as Personnel Security Specialist at the Air Force Research Lab in Kirtland AFB, NM.
