Patrick and Lauran Delancy (Alum) have been blessed with Cora Anne, born April 13th, 2008 at 4:56 a.m. Cora weighed 8 lb 4 oz, and was 20-1/4" in length. Baptized into the Family of God on April 20th, "A Tiny Little Miracle, Sent From Up Above, A Little Bitty Baby, and Lots and Lots of Love!"

 

John Hojnacki (Alum 2008) was recognized on April 14, 2008 as a recipient of the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA) Award. Only one therapist is chosen as the WPTA Physical Therapist of the Year from nearly 100 nominations submitted annually. Dr. Hojnacki completed his doctorate in physical therapy at Concordia University, and in addition to his spine care specialty, is interested in weight training, nutrition, throwing and golf mechanics.

 

Seth Hoeppner (Alum '07) and Shannon Buck (Alum '06): Announce their engagement.  They will be married on August 16, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Seth is currently working in Astana, Kazakhstan with the LCMS teaching English.  Shannon is currently working in Hanoi, Vietnam with the LCMS teaching English.  After marriage, they will be working at Trinity Lutheran Church in Battambang, Cambodia.

 

Amy Hirsimaki (Alum, '04):  Amy Hirsimaki completed her Master of Library Science degree with Drexel University in September 2006.  She currently is working as a Children's Librarian in Jupiter, FL.

 

RAE (Richard) Egleston (MBA Alum '07): Has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Sales Administration, Trustmark Voluntary Benefit Solutions, a division of Trustmark Insurance Company.   He joined Trustmark in 1996 in a Senior Claim Services capacity and was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility within the organization. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Barat College of DePaul University, Lake Forest, Ill., and a Computer Career Program (CCP) certification from DePaul University, Chicago.   He is a current member of Concordia’s MBA Advisory Council. Egleston works out of Trustmark’s Mequon, Wis., regional office.  RAE and his family live in Oak Creek, WI.   

 

Kelly (Voskuil, Alum '02) and Matt Lee: Had their first child,

a baby boy (right), Corey Jacob,  on November 23, 2007.  He was 9 lbs. 12 oz. and 22 inches.

 

 

  

 

Patty (Matranga, Alum '00) and Curtis Higgins: Were recently married on March 3, 2007. Patty graduated from UW-Platteville with a Master's in adult education and has been working at Gateway Technical College for 12 years. She is currently working in the registration/cashier office and is an adjunct in adult basic education. She is also currently going to Carthage College for her certification in elementary education.

Julie (Lichon, Alum '07) Schumacher:  Julie has taken a new job with West Bend Mutual Insurance Company and a QC Analyst in May of 2007.  Julie married Andrew Schumacher on October 13, 2007.

 

James and Kristan Huenick (both Alum '03):  After spending a year living in Cambridge, England and traveling throughout western Europe, they moved to Chicago to spend a year vicarage at St. James Lutheran Church.  They are now in St. Louis for the last year at the Seminary.  Kristan is employed as Communication Specialist at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.  Kristan is also working on her MBA through CUW's E-learning program.

 

Ms. Abi Shields (Alum '01):  Abi is starting to work on her Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College.

 

Ryan Wilson (Alum '07):  Ryan just completed his MBA at Concordia, with a concentration in Human Resource Management.  He is employed with Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire, IL and was recently promoted to the position of Benefits Operations Manager.

 

Walter Trey (Alum '07) and Erin (Schmidtke, Alum '07) Senney: Trey and Erin were married on August 4th, 2007 in Morristown, MN.  After a honeymoon in New York and Bermuda they moved to Houston, TX where Trey is teaching math at Lutheran Academy South.  He is also the head JV football coach and assistant varsity football coach.  During the winter Trey will be the head tennis coach.  Erin is currently a personnel trainer at 24 hour fitness.

 

James Ruley (Alum '06):  James is seeking a position in the field of administration.  CUW afforded him the opportunity to apply his skills in this new venture in his life.  He prasised God for giving him the strength to complete his degree and open new doors in his life, even though his degree came later in life.

  

Daniel and Rebekah (Brigham, both Alum '02) Burk:  Daniel has started his 5th year of teaching at a new school, Grace Lutheran Lancaster.  It is located in the high desert of California.  They just celebrated their 5th anniversary and the second birthday of their son Trevor.

 

Elise (Swanke, Alum '02): and Matt Lorenz:  Are please to announce the birth of their daughter, Madeline Joy.  Madeline was born on May 2, 2007.  She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and 20.5 inches long.  Elise is a teacher ar Immanuel Lutheran in Brookfield.

 

Tessa (Pacilli, Alum '05) and Jeremy Miller:  Tessa and Jeremy were married on August 4, 2007.  Tessa is teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade at Sunbeams Lutheran School in Kent, Washington.

Kandyce (Miller '01) and Ricky Perez:  Kandyce married Ricardo (Ricky) Perez (CUW student from 1998-2002) on March 11, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV.  CUW graduates attending the wedding included Karl Miller (Alum '97), Sara (Pritzl, Alum '01) Matavka, Jennifer Riggins (Alum '02), Nichole Beaver (Alum '02), Patrick Niles (Alum '04), and Katrina (Miller, Alum '04) Niles.  Mary Eberhart, Director of Graduate and Adult Admissions was also in attendance.  Ricky is in the Air Force and will be stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV when he returns from his deployment to Afghanistan in late October.  Kandyce is taking graduate courses in marriage and family counseling in Las Vegas.  

 

 

Ryan (Alum '03) and Kristy (Zeman, Alum '02) Peterson: announce the birth of their son Andrew Timothy, born July 28, 2007.  He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 22 inches long.  The family is currently residing in Wildwood, Mo.

 

Mrs. Nicole (Wisneski, Alum '00) and Shane Rosalez:  Have moved to Port Washington in April 2007.  They had a baby girl, Elena Frieda Nieves who joined her big brother Hector (2 1/2) on June 13th.  In July, Nicole started a new job as inpatient occupational therapist at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.  Shane was promoted to Finance Manager at Northpoint Ford, Milwaukee.

 

  

Rev. Greg Truwe (Alum '03) and Jamie (Piepenbrink Alum '02): Greg was ordained into the Pastoral ministry at Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, WI  on June 10th, 2007.  He was installed as Associate Pastor at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in San Antonio, TX on July 8th, 2007.  Jamie is kept busy raising Naomi and photographing what life brings her.

Christopher Cody (Alum '01):  Christopher accepted a call to serve as Principal for Mt Olive Lutheran School, Milwaukee, WI beginning with the 2007-08 school year, after serving as a Middle School Social Studies teacher for 5 years.  Christopher will also graduate with a Doctorate of Education degree in 2009 from Walden University. 

 

Betsy(Alum '05) and Joel Vanden Berg:  announce the birth of thier daughter Kate, who is now 6 months old.  Betsy is teaching Middle School at Friess Lake School District.

Matthew Ruesch (Alum '00) and Heather: are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Sofia Edith-Ann Ruesch.  Sofia was born on May 18, 2007 in St. Cloud, MN, weighing 7 lbs. 3oz. and measuring 19-1/2 inches long.  Matt serves as the pastor of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Garrison, MN where he and Heather reside with their children Isabella (7), Paul (4), and Sofia.

Rebekah (Stauffer, Alum '02) Woehrer:  Rebekah and Joshua were married in 2005.  The couple is moving to Portland, OR. 

 

Christopher S. Matthis (Alum '02):  Christopher recently became engaged to Lisa Thaete who is a DCE at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, CO.  Christopher also graduated this spring with a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St Louis, and was ordained and installed as the pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Englewood,CO on June 10th 2007.  The wedding will be November 17th, 2007.

 

 

 

 

 

Arthur J Furman (Alum '02):  Arthur just finished the Bigfoot Triathlon in Lake Geneva, WI.  I challenge all able bodied men and women to stop procrastinating and get out and swim, bike, run, walk, crawl, jumprope or hoist a mainsail... the tri was a hoot, I finished 170 out of 300.  We helped raise money for COS (Children's Oncology Services) a charity group that treats seriously ill children to summer camp and other out door events.  Summer is on get out and play.

 

Cheryl Austin (Alum '02):  Cheryl was recently promoted to the Business Continuity Plan group at M&I Support Services Corporation.

 

Sarah (Porisch Alum '00) and Jason (Alum '01) Crowder:  Jason, Sarah and Katie 3, have a new member in their family: Brendan S. Crowder was born June 6, 2007.  They are enjoying the country life in Warrenton, MO where they live on a farm raising chickens.  Jason is teaching at Warrenton High School and doing a summer job as a technical writer for an urban planning commission.  Sarah loves staying home on the farm with their two little kidlets, and doing wedding photography on the side.

Victoria Teresinski (Alum '06):  Victoria began working in a newly developed position as a Hospitalist at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander.

 

Daniel (Alum '99) and Heather (Strong, Alum '01) Winter: Announce the birth of their son Ethan Thomas Winter.  He was born February 13th, 2007 weighing 6lbs. 10 oz. and 20 inches long.  He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI on March 4th.  Heather is the 2nd grade teacher for St. Paul's. Mary(Deitemayer, Alum '03) Bonde:  Mary has completed the Master of Music-Organ Performance program at the University of Minnesota in the spring of 2007.  Mary serves as the Director of Music and Worship Arts at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, MN.

   

Scott and Lisa (Kutz, Alum '03) Plopper: Scott and Lisa

are proud parents of a son, Jocob Scott Plopper. Jacob was born April 16, 2007. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.5 inches. Lisa is a teacher at Divine Redeemer Lutheran School in Hartland and Scott is an Outside Salesman at Neu's Hardware. Jacob will be baptized on June 10, 2007. His godparents will be Laurel (Plopper) Zobel (Alum '82) and Joel Kutz (Alum '01). The Ploppers reside in Menomonee Falls.

 

 

 

Jenna Koeppel (Alumn '02):  Jenna is living in Jackson, WI and working as a physical therapist in Hartford, WI.  Happily married since July 08, 2006.

 

Sarah Gayken (Alum ’03):  Sarah is currently teaching at an alternative high school in Milwaukee.  She enjoys going to Brewers games, concerts, summer festivals and playing with my miniature pinscher Zoey. 

 

Jamie (Diehl, Alum '05) Beaudry: Jamie married Sean Beaudry a former student of CUW, on September 24, 2005.  They welcomed their first child, Ava Lynn on July 13, 2006.  They live in Juneau, WI and Jamie is a CT Technologist at Froedtert Hospital and Sean owns his own Roofing and Gutter business.

 

Jenna (Carsten, Alum '02) Koeppel:  Is currently living in Jackson, WI and is working as a Physical Therapist in Hartford, WI.  She is married to Thomas Koeppel since July 8th, 2006.

 

Darcy Barnhart (Alum '00):  Darcy is getting married to Adam Paape, also a Concordia Wisconsin Alum ‘00.  Darcy and Adam reconnected through a mutual friend and will be getting married in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin this July.  Adam will be looking for a teacher position out in Portland while Darcy will continue her ministry at St. Michael's Lutheran and CU-P

 

Paul and Wendi Schroeder (Alum '04): welcomed their second son into the world, Moses John Schroeder, on December 19, 2006.  He is a healthy baby boy weighing 8lbs. 15 oz. at birth.  The Schroeder's are missionaries with Lutheran Bible Translators and hope to be departing to Nigeria to help translate the Bible with the Mbe people in July 2007.  By that time Moses will be 7 months and his older brother Joshua will be 2 years old.  The project is predicted to last for 10 to 15 years (with the Schroeder's returning to the US on furloughs about every 3 years).  Throughout the mission project they want to keep in contact with friends in the U.S.  They will have email access with their current email address pwschroeder@LBT.org and will send out a newsletter 4-6 times/year.  If you would like to receive their newsletter, please email them.

  

 

Bethany J. (Hilgendorf, Alum '02) VanHouten: was married on November 4, 2006 at Central Christian Church in Moberly, MO. to

D. Christopher VanHouten. Attendents included James S Hilgendorf (Alum '01) and Tracy (Miller, Alum '02) Egge. The couple reside in Jacksonville, MO. Bethany is the Director of Christian Education at Zion Lutheran Church in Macon, MO. Christopher is the Owner and General Manager of Magic City Lawncare in Moberly, MO.

 

 

 

 

 

Ben Haupt (Alum '00) and his wife Celina recently had their first baby. Their son, Aidan Douglas Haupt, was born Feb. 19, weighing 8 lb. 15 oz. and was 21 inches long. He will be baptized April 15th at St. Paul Lutheran in Boca Raton, FL where Ben serves as an associate pastor.

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

Carolyn Guengerich (Alum '05) and Daniel Winningham (Alum '04): Carolyn and Daniel were married July 1, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Green Valley, Illinois.  The wedding party included Leslie Guengerich (06), current CUW student Lisa Guengerich, Jason Frank (05), and former CUW student Josh Soper; Adam Parvey (04) was an usher. The couple resides in Naples, Florida where Carolyn is a Lutheran preschool teacher and Daniel writes for a weekly newspaper in Marco Island.

 

 

Adam Paape (Alum '00) and Darcy Barnhart (Alum'00): Darcy and Adam would like to announce their engagement.  The wedding is planned for this July and will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran in Sun Prairie, WI.  Adam has been teaching at Sheboygan Lutheran and Darcy is an associate in Youth, Family, and Campus Ministry at St. Michael's and Concordia University in Portland OR.  Adam and Darcy reconnected through a mutual Concordia friend. Adam will be moving to Portland while Darcy continues her call to St. Michael's and ministry with Concordia Portland.

 

 

Tahreer Thiab(Alum '06): Tahreer and Nader Dagher announce the birth of their first child Kareem which is Arabic and means (generous).  He was born 10 days after graduation on Dec. 27, 2006.

 

 

 

 

Jay and Gretchen Schroeder (Alum '01):  My wife and I continue to be blessed by the Holy Spirit.  I just found out today that I passed my nursing boards after completing my BS in nursing.  I am currently working as a RN in the modified care unit at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.  My wife Gretchen continues to work as a physical therapist at Clearview Medical Center in Juneau, WI - specializing in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.  We reside in Horicon, WI and are active members at St. John's in Mayville.  No children yet, but 2 dogs and 1 cat keeps our house hopping.  We can be contacted at jayngretchen@gmail.com.
