CUW BARTLING LECTURE SERIES TO ADDRESS "WHY GENUINE LUTHERAN THEOLOGY IS INHERENTLY VIGOROUSLY EVANGELISTIC!" MEQUON, Wis. - Rev. Dr. Wallace Schulz, the executive editor of the GOOD NEWS magazine, published in 20 languages and distributed in 100 countries, and the former associate speaker for "The Lutheran Hour," will be a guest speaker on Tuesday, March 27, at 7:00 p.m. in the Lakeshore Room and at noon on Wednesday, March 28 at the Friends of Concordia Seminar Room.
Schultz will be speaking on "Why Genuine Lutheran Theology is Inherently Vigorously Evangelistic!" as part of the Third Annual Victor Bartling lecture series. Schulz will focus how biblical doctrine clarifies and enhances Gospel expressions. The event, which is free and open to the public. For further information, please contact Rev. Rev. Dr. Schulz was a speaker on The Lutheran Hour for 25 years. On December 1, 2002, he accepted the call to serve as Evangelist with the Lutheran Heritage Foundation, a worldwide missions and evangelism movement. Today, he serves as executive editor of the GOOD NEWS magazine.
Schulz served two terms as fifth vice president and one term as the second vice President of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Schulz has written extensively and proclaimed the Gospel in the United States and in many foreign countries. He and his family also lived and worked in Latvia and traveled in Russia/Siberia immediately following the collapse of the former Soviet Union.
In addition to serving as a chaplain to medical workers among the poor in foreign countries, for over a decade Schulz has maintained contacts with and assisted the underground Christian church of China. He has participated in several World Congresses on Evangelism and in 1986 he received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his distinguished service to humanity.
