24th ANNUAL CHRIST THE KING CELEBRATION

TO BE PERFORMED AT CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2007

MEQUON, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin's music department is proud to present its 24th annual Christ the King Celebration featuring Kammerchor, under the direction of Dr. Kenneth T. Kosche, and The Alleluia Ringers, under the direction of Dr. John A. Behnke, on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ Triumphant.

Kammerchor, a 48 mixed-voice choral ensemble, will sing "With a Voice of Singing" by Kenneth Jennings, "Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen" (Psalm 84) by Heinrich Schütz, "Holy is the Lord," by Andreas Hammerschmidt, "Partita on 'Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming,'" by Hugo Distler, and other selections. Assisting Kammerchor are Anna Karsten, violin, and Laura Holtermann, flute. Kammerchor is preparing for a May 2008 choir tour to the Republic of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Vienna.

The Alleluia Ringers, a handbell ensemble consisting of 13 college students ringing 133 bells and hand chimes, will be performing a number of pieces including two pieces by Bach:  the "Fugue in G Minor" and a "Pastorale." Hymn arrangements include "When In Our Music God is Glorified," and a new arrangement for both choir and bells of "How Can I Keep from Singing?" by director John Behnke.  The Alleluia Ringers will also have a newly recorded DVD for sale of their live concert at this summer's American Guild of English Handbell Ringers National Seminar in Dallas, Texas, where they played one of the featured evening concerts for the Seminar.

Both Kammerchor and The Alleluia Ringers are noted for their national and international spring tours, and they and their directors have collaborated for over twenty years in a variety of musical undertakings.

Tickets for the performance are $7 for adults (students 18 and under are free) and may be purchased at the door. For more information, call the box office at 262-243-4405.
