CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN STUDENTS TO PERFORM OPAL

MEQUON, Wis. – A cast of 10 Concordia University Wisconsin students will be performing “Opal,” October 20, 21 and 22, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. and October 23, 2005, at 1:30 p.m., in the University’s Todd Wehr Auditorium, 12800 North Lake Shore Drive, Mequon.

Opal” is based on the enchanting diary of Opal Whiteley, written in 1904 when she was 7 years of age.  In the unlikely setting of a turn-of-the-century lumber camp, an aristocratic girl sets out to “make Earth glad” by helping the people she encounters in her strange new world.  With humor and heart, this award-winning, off-Broadway musical will entertain and inspire the whole family. Plus, it’s a great way for the university to  celebrate its 125th anniversary. The play is suggested for children aged eight and up.

Cast members include: Akesa Afuhaamango, Euless, TX; Katlyn Anderson, Coon Rapids, MN; Jessica Bechtel, Jackson, WI; Kellen Bohm, Wautoma, WI; Sarah Bratz, Covington, WA; Martin Herzberg, Braddyville, IA;, Macus Hohe, Delaware, OH; Steven Lyon, Detroit, MI; Silvia Matus, Milwaukee,WI; and David Mews, Fort Wayne, IN.
