MEQUON, Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin will award degrees to approximately 390 undergraduate students, 168 master's candidates and 1 doctoral candidates at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 13, 2006, in the R. John Buuck Field House.

The Honorable Christine Nurenberg, Mayor, City of Mequon, will be the university's commencement speaker.

The baccalaureate speaker will be the Rev. Wayne Braun, Pastor, Lamb of God Lutheran Church, Flower Mound, TX.

The following awards will also be presented as part of the service: the Juergensen Educator of the Year Award will be awarded to Eric Pankow of Milwaukee Lutheran High School, Milwaukee, WI; the Sohn Educator of the Year Award will be awarded to Gail Holzer of Redeemer Lutheran School, Oakmont, PA; the Ronald L. Berg Faculty Laureate award will be awarded to: Rev. Dr. Daniel Paavola of Cedar Grove; Honorary Doctor of Laws will be presented to William Hecht of Tifton, GA; Honorary Doctor of Divinity will be presented to Rev. Kenneth Klaus of St. Louis, MO; Doctor Honorary Doctor of Letters will be presented to Dr. Donald Knuth of Stanford University; Christo et Ecclesiae will be awarded to Dr. J. Robert & Mrs. Mary Cade of Gainsville, FL; Distinguished Alumna will be presented to Lenore Chandler of Brown Deer; and Honorary Alumna of the Year will be presented to Evelyn Hutchins.
