KAMMERCHOR TO PERFORM ON SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2008
MEQUON, Wis. - Dr. Kenneth T. Kosche will be leading the Kammerchor, a 45 mixed-voice choral ensemble, in their final performance for the school year on Sunday, May 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ the Triumphant.
The Kammerchor will be performing a wide range of music by European masters including: "Come Ye Now, Make a Joyful Noise," by Heinrich Schutz; "Kyrie and Gloria," by Andrea Gabrieli; and "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming," by Hugo Distler.
The second part of the program will feature works by American composers' works including: "With a Voice of Singing," by Kenneth Jennings; "Ye Shall Have a Song," by Randall Thompson, "Polly Wolly Doodle," by Alice Parker and "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing," by the Kammerchor's conductor, Dr. Kenneth T. Kosche.

Kammerchor, German for "chamber choir", is directed by Dr. Kenneth T. Kosche. The group has toured virtually all over the continental USA, and several times to Canada, including Vancouver Island, and from Saskatchewan to Quebec. Kammerchor has toured Great Britain (1988), Taiwan (1998), Brazil (2001), and Shanghai and Hong Kong (2004). Plans for May 2008 include traveling to Slovakia.
In addition to touring, Kammerchor makes several major on-campus presentations and sings for worship in several area congregations each year. A new recording: "A Banquet of Song" in honor of Concordia’s just celebrated 125th anniversary year is available and includes Kammerchor selections from 1983 till the present. Founded in 1881, Concordia University Wisconsin's main campus is located on approximately 200 acres on Lake Michigan at 12800 N. Lake Shore in Mequon.
