CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN TO INDUCT TWO TEAMS INTO ITS SPORTS HALL OF FAMEMEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin officials announced today that the school’s first team inductions into the William C. Ackmann Sports Hall of Fame will happen as part of Concordia Invitational Tournament on Friday, January 27 & Friday, January 28, 2006.
Teams being inducted include the 1993-1994 Concordia Falcon Women’s Basketball team. This extraordinary group of young women came together to achieve more than any other team in the history of Concordia University athletics. They represented CUW in the classroom and on the basketball court in a magnificent way, winning their third Lake Michigan Conference and District 14 titles in 1993-94 and advancing to the NAIA Final Four. The team also had a GPA over 3.5 and ranked in the top 20 in the nation for academics.
The team coached by Jack and Mary (Karsten) Surridge consisted of Michelle (Eversdyk) Buchmann; Katie (Duchow) Kogutkiewicz; Tracy (Arndt) Chrobak; Shiela Loeffler; Jill Goble; Livija Medne; Sally (Lyford) Grulke; Janel (Kuklinski) Novack; Jennifer (Gossard) Hartson; Tracie (Trombley) Schroeder; Sandra (Brunk) Hinrichs; and Stephanie (Locke) Juergensen.
Also being inducted into the William C. Ackmann Sports Hall of Fame is the 1983 Football team, which had a 7-3 season record and went on to win the Midwest Bowl. The Falcons defeated two conference champions during the year: Lake Forest College and Mt. Senario.

The 1993-1994 women’s basketball team induction will be on Friday, January 27th. The 1983 football team induction will take place on Saturday, January 28th.
