CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN NAMES DR. MICHAEL UDEN NEW DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin officials recently named Dr. Michael Uden the new Dean of the School of Education at the University.
In this position, Uden will be responsible for overseeing the School of Education, its 25 full-time faculty and staff, and over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, Dr. Uden will coordinate the expansion of programs, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, building upon the established tradition of excellence that characterizes the School of Education at Concordia University Wisconsin.
Uden had been serving at Concordia as an Assistant Professor of Education; Chair of the Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence Department; Director of the ACE Program; Director of the Post-Baccalaureate Accelerated Certification: Elementary Program; Director of the Graduate Reading Program - Mequon Campus; and Director of Innovative Programs for School of Education.
Uden holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin; a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Concordia University Wisconsin.
He has been associated with the Lutheran Education Association (LEA); the Wisconsin Professors of Reading; the Wisconsin Reading Association; the Wisconsin Association of Curriculum and Development; and the National Middle School Association.
He and his wife Theresa and their four children reside in Menomonee Falls.
Uden is also a Sunday School Teacher at Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Pewaukee, WI, and a Forensics Coach and Adjudicator at Living Word Lutheran High School in Jackson, WI.
