SYMPHONIC WIND ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM ON SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2008 MEQUON, Wis. - Dr. Louis A. Menchaca will be leading the Symphonic Wind Ensemble in their final performance for the school year on Sunday, April 20, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ the Triumphant.
The Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra will be performing a wide range of repertoire including: Suite from Holberg's Time by Edvard Grieg for String Orchestra and the Triumphal March from the Opera "Aida" by Guiseppe Verdi. Other major works by the SWE include multiple works by John Williams such as March from 1941 and "Theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark," Overture to "Candide" by Leonard Bernstein and a contemporary work by British composer Philip Sparke called "Year of the Dragon."
