WATER QUALITY REPORT
At Concordia University Wisconsin our goal is to provide you with water that meets or surpasses all the standards for safe drinking water. These health and safety standards are set by the United States Environmental Protection agency (EPA) and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. As part of this commitment we regularly test water samples and that information is posted in a report called the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). In 1996 the U.S Congress and the President amended the Safe Drinking Water Act by adding a provision requiring all water systems deliver to their customers an annual water quality report. The guiding principal behind the CCR is that all people have the right to know what is in their drinking water and where it comes from. We are pleased to report that our drinking water is safe and meets all Federal and State requirements. This report is made available at:
http://www.cuw.edu/News_Events/pdfs/consumer_confidence_report.pdf

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE- Can you believe all that is happening?
* The work on the Coburg Residence Hall is progressing nicely. The superstructure for the south wing was topped out at the fifth story and the roof is in place. The center section is nearing completion and we have just passed the fourth floor mark on the north/south wing, the one facing the lake. We remain on schedule for a December 1 opening of the south wing, a wing that will house 160 students. The east wing continues to be scheduled for completion by August 1, 2008.
* The Bluff Renovation Project has been blessed throughout the summer by warm, dry weather allowing for great progress. It is hoped that by the time of the board meeting construction on the entire bluff area will be complete. It is likely that work will continue on the south 40 acres during early fall but that our construction team will have completed the project prior to November.
* Athletic Field Renovation The entire project for athletic field renovations, which is estimated to cost $6 million when complete, is a portion of our $54 million capital campaign. This project will be completed in several phases. The first phase includes the replacement of the grass fields for football, soccer, and softball with artificial turf. As I write this note, the football field is nearly complete and the soccer and softball fields are well underway. Completion of the soccer fieldis expected by early September and the softball field by October 15. Fencing for the soccer field is expected to be completed in September, with this year’s total costs, approximating $1.7 million. Phase 2 for that project will include resurfacing of the track, artificial grass for the baseball field and significant infrastructure improvements related to the bleachers, press box, fencing, etc.
* Luther Office Remodel A smaller project by scope is the first floor Luther remodeling. As you enter Luther hallway, the changes will be obvious to you. All of the north half of the first floor of the building has been renovated for faculty and advancement offices. Most obvious will be the hallway and the renovations to the men’s and women’s restrooms.
