Graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 1986 with a degree in Physical Education. Became a board certified Athletic Trainer in 1986 and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist in 1992. Russ received his Masters Degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1998. Currently Russ is working towards his Doctoral Degree in Education with a concentration in Athletic Training. He has worked as an Athletic Trainer at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Milwaukee Medical Clinic Sports Medicine Center, Club Gymnastics, as well as at various high schools. Russ has also acted as an Orthopedic Surgical Assistant before becoming the Athletic Training Education Program Director at CUW. Other involvements include:

Ryan Wilkinson was an undergraduate here at CUW from the Fall of 1997 until his graduation in 2001. Ryan earned his athletic training certification (ATC), through the Board of Certification (BOC) in 2001. During those undergraduate years, while completing a double major in Athletic Training and Exercise Leadership, he gained experience as an Athletic Training Student with Falcon football, men's basketball, wrestling, and women's volleyball. Ryan also competed as a four-year member of the Falcon baseball team. While working towards his Master's Degree (2002) at Indiana University in Bloomington, he assisted with the Hoosier football and wrestling programs as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. Ryan also earned his strength and conditioning specialist certification (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2004. Ryan was also fortunate enough to have done extensive athletic training work with numerous WCSS Basketball Camps and was also given the opportunity to work with the Milwaukee Brewers' athletic training staff in 2001.
Since starting here in the fall of 2002, Ryan's responsibilities include teaching numerous courses within the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) and working with various Falcon athletic teams, serving as the primary athletic trainer for the football program. He currently serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education within the ATEP, directing all aspects of the clinical education component of the ATEP. He is also currently enrolled in coursework towards a Doctorate degree in Education (Ed.D.) with an emphasis in Health Care Education. He anticipates completing the requirements for the degree in 2010. Ryan and his wife Kate reside in Franklin.

Kate graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training with an emphasis in Child and Youth Care. She became a Certified Athletic Trainer in May 2002. Following graduation, Kate attended the University of Akron for her Masters Degree in Education of Exercise Physiology. While there, she worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Sports Medicine Department. Her duties at Akron included being responsible for the Zip’s Division 1 Women’s Soccer Program as well as assisting in the Undergraduate Sports Medicine Program. Kate has been a member of the Concordia University Wisconsin Athletic Training Education Program since 2004. Her duties include administration of the program, teaching numerous courses within the program, and providing athletic training services for the CUW Women’s Basketball team. Kate is also currently enrolled in coursework towards a Doctoral degree in Urban Education with an emphasis on Educational Administration. She presently resides in Franklin, WI.

A native of Milwaukee, Jenny graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology/Athletic Training in June of 2004. While at UWM, she completed a one year internship with the Milwaukee Wave her senior year. She became a certified athletic trainer in December of 2004. She then went on to attend the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign to pursue her Master of Science in Kinesiology. While at Illinois, Jenny worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the SportWell clinic and also as a teaching assistant for some courses in the undergraduate athletic training program. She did her thesis on in the influence of lower extremity strength and limb dominance on performance of the Star Excursion Balance Task (SEBT). Her research was also published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research in September of 2008. Jenny earned her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential in June of 2006.
At Concordia University, Jenny's duties include working with men's soccer, men's basketball, and track and field. Jenny also teaches some courses in the athletic training education program as an adjunct faculty in the Department of Health and Human Performance.
In her spare time, Jenny plays soccer for and serves as the Women’s Coordinator for the Milwaukee Brewers FC Soccer Club. She also competes in triathlons and running events from 5K up to half marathon distances. Jenny and her husband Billy reside in Milwaukee.

A native of Cedarburg, WI Angi graduated from the Concordia University Wisconsin Athletic Training Education Program with a Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training in 2007. She has since become a member of the Athletic Training Staff here at CUW. Her duties include working with women's soccer, men's hockey, women’s hockey, and softball.
In her spare time, Angi enjoys playing sports and spending time with her friends and family. She resides in Cedarburg.

Samantha graduated from Concordia University of Wisconsin in 2009, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training along with the Walter W. Stuenkel Award and Female Athlete of the Year Award. Her senior year at Concordia, she completed a summer internship with the St. Louis Rams. She became a certified athletic trainer in May of 2009. She is now continuing her education at Concordia towards her Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Sciences while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Samantha’s duties include working with volleyball and baseball.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Annie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology-Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While working towards her degree she spent time working with many of the sports teams at UWM and just completed an internship with the Milwaukee Iron. She became a certified athletic trainer in June 2009. Working now as a graduate assistant at Concordia, Annie is going on to pursue her masters degree in Rehabilitation Sciences, and hopes to eventually teach in an ATEP program. In her spare time, Annie enjoys playing and watching numerous sports, and spending time with her friends and family.

Dr. Mark W. Niedfeldt, MD

In 1988, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelor of science degree. He received his doctor of medicine degree in 1992 from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). While at MCW, Dr. Niedfeldt completed an externship in physical medicine and rehabilitation (1989) and an American Cancer Society externship in surgical oncology (1990). He is associate medical staff at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, St. Michael's Hospital, and Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, as well as St. Mary's-Ozaukee, in Mequon, WI. He is also full-time faculty at St. Mary's Family Practice Residency Program and a clinical human anatomy lecturer and laboratory instructor. Dr. Niedfeldt is an associate director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is a team physician for the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Rampage (USISL professional outdoor soccer), Milwaukee Wave (NPSL professional indoor soccer), Wisconsin Lutheran College, and Concordia University Wisconsin . He also serves as a company physician for the Milwaukee Ballet and provides coverage for a wide range of sporting events.

Dr. Darren Werner Dr. Werner completed his undergraduate studies at Concordia University Wisconsin with a double major in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. In 2005, he graduated Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. After graduation, Dr. Werner accepted an associate position with the Grafton Chiropractic Center and has been working with the Concordia University Wisconsin athletic training staff ever since. In his private practice, Dr. Werner works with many local high school athletic programs and provides coverage for their sporting events.
Dr. Werner is a member of the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association as well as the National Arthritis Foundation and the Wisconsin Public Health Association. In August 2008, he had the opportunity to provide the chiropractic care for the St. Louis Rams throughout their training camp at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Dr. Jennifer L. Abraham, DDS

Dr. Abraham has practiced dentistry in Thiensville since 1990, when she went into practice with her father. She graduated from Lawrence University with a B.A. in Biology. After undergraduate school, she spent five years with General Electric's Information Services Company. She received her DDS from Northwestern University, where she subsequently served on the part time faculty in the Pediatric Dentistry Department. She has been active in sports dentistry through the Academy of Sports Dentistry, where she currently serves on the Editorial Board. She has put together custom mouthguard programs for area grade and high school teams, including the Mequon-Thiensville Cardinal Football Players, the Ozaukee Ice Dogs, and the Homestead High School Football team. |
