Mission Statment
The Concordia University Wisconsin Athletic Training Education Program will strive to be one of the premiere Athletic Training Education Programs. Concordia's Athletic Training Education Program will be widely known for its state of the art facility and excellent instructors who are recognized for their contributions to the athletic training profession. Concordia University Wisconsin graduates will assume significant servant leadership responsibilities across the nation and around the world.
Goals and Objectives of the Athletic Training Education Program
The Athletic Training Education Program will prepare students for the profession of athletic training through the following goals and objections:
- Faculty, staff, and students will provide quality health care to athletes and the physically active population we serve.
- Faculty and staff will educate and assist in the development of students in the Athletic Training Education Program to serve athletes and the physically active.
- Faculty and staff will provide positive role models for the students in the Athletic Training Education Program.
- Students will have an appreciation of the athletic training profession.
- The Athletic Training Education Program will strive for a 100% passing rate on the NATABOC examination.
- Faculty and staff will encourage students to attend clinics, conferences, and symposiums related to athletic training.
- Faculty and staff will encourage students to join either the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers' Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association, and/or the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
- The administration, faculty, and Athletic Training Education Program faculty/staff will be committed to maintaining a CAAHEP approved entry-level curriculum.
- The Athletic Training Education Program curriculum will provide the competencies and clinical proficiencies from the 1999 Competencies and Clinical Proficiencies manual.
- Students will gain an appreciation for the differences among Certified Athletic Trainers/Licensed Athletic Trainers by having numerous clinical supervisors through their educational process.
Health and Human Performance Department Purpose Statement
The goal of the Health and Human Performance Department is to foster the student's growth in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world. In addition, the Department strives to help all Concordia students obtain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for them to lead healthy, active, and productive lives. Finally, Health and Human Performance graduates will possess the specialized knowledge in their chosen profession to be highly competent and contributing members of the working world. They will be well prepared to serve the health and human performance needs of a myriad of populations.
