Parish Music

Program Overview

The parish music major is designed for students who wish to lead the music program in a church. Lutheran Church Missouri Synod students may be placed on the church worker roster of synod.

  • Area of emphasis
    • Students study one major instrument and take classes in music theory and history
    • Students also complete a senior recital their last semester
  • Complementary majors/minors
    • Can work with any other major or minor; many students studying music are also in the education or lay ministry programs

 

Strengths of CUW’s Program

Students enjoy small, personal classes and flexibility with instruction times. Students have many opportunities to perform and travel to other states and countries. The program has an excellent faculty with a wide range of experience in conducting, composing, directing and teaching music.

 

Year Internship is Completed

Senior recital is completed your last undergraduate semester. A120 hour internship is required with senior recital requirements

Travel Opportunities

Music groups on campus have traveled to Brazil, London, Taiwan, Germany and all over the United States
