What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is the scientific application of the art of music to accomplish specific treatment objectives. The therapist uses music to facilitate changes in behavior and brain function for the ultimate goal of promoting health and wellness. Music therapists are part of multidisciplinary teams that serve the needs of varied populations in many areas including medical and psychiatric hospitals, hospice, schools, clinics and extended health care settings.
Concordia University Music Therapy Equivalency Program
While studying music at Concordia University of Wisconsin, you now have the opportunity to concurrently work towards a music therapy equivalency at Alverno College. The Equivalency option allows you to focus on specific courses required to become a Board Certified music therapist.
