INTRAMURAL VOLLEYBALL RULES
- A woman must touch the ball at least once before it goes over the net. A man, however, may hit the ball over the net on the first hit.
- An individual receiving a serve may set it (it cannot go through the fingers, however, or be a lift).
- Blocking or charging a serve is not allowed.
- A team may have the same number of women and men on the court, more women then men, but NOT more men then women (e.g. 3 women & 3 men, 3 women & 2 men, but not 3 men & 2 women).
- Please have set ways of rotating people in (e.g. an individual will rotate in for the next server).
- Proper sportsmanship is a must. Only a captain can question a call, all others will be warned once, and then asked to leave.
- 3 games will be played to 15 -- winning by at least 2 points. The game will be called with 5 minutes to go to the hour no matter what the score, unless there is a tie, and then the next point would win.
- At the end of your match, a sportsmanship card needs to be filled out. You rank the team you played, and they rank you. The referee will also rank both teams. If your team receives a 2 or less on more than one occasion, your team will be removed from intramural volleyball. NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
- All field house rules are in full effect when competing in intramural volleyball.
