The Academic Advising Program assists students in the process of planning and individualizing a program of studies which encourages intellectual and spiritual development, self-knowledge and professional competencies. The vision of the advising process is to be a value-added experience for the student and the advisor.

Upon acceptance to the University each degree student is assigned a faculty advisor as his/her personal academic advisor. Students with declared majors are assigned to faculty advisors within their area or department of study. If the student takes LA 105 and is undecided, the instructor teaching the LA 105 course serves as an advisor (for the first year) and works closely with each student to assist in making meaningful and realistic decisions relating to the student's academic program. All other students that are undecided and have not enrolled in LA 105 will work with the Director of Academic Advising.
