Purpose and Intended use of each lab

The computer labs are maintained for specific reasons and have well-defined intended use. All use of lab computers and/or lab workspace is subject to the Computer Labs Acceptable Use Policy. In addition to the Acceptable Use Policy, guidelines for the use of each computer lab are defined as follows:

S107, HS104, HS108

These computer labs are available for reservation by faculty or staff to be used for instruction during pre-defined time periods. When these labs are not reserved for specific use, they are open to all students, faculty and staff for general use in compliance with stated guidelines. Please make note of posted reservations before entering. To reserve one of these rooms, please contact Susan Mercier.

S109

This lab is not available for reservation and is open 24 hours for general use in compliance with stated guidelines.

Library Search Stations
These computers are reserved for specific research use. A menu system is provided for easy access to allowed internet resources and applications. Access to personal network storage is disallowed from these computers. The library computers logon automatically as a reserved network user. It is a breach in policy to logon to these computers in any other way unless given direct written authority by the Lab Coordinator, authorized IT Personnel, or authorized Library Personnel.

Wireless Laptop Cart
IT maintains a mobile cart consisting of 14 laptops, 1 printer and all supporting hardware to provide wireless internet access for the laptops and printing capabilities. The Wireless cart may be reserved for use by CUW faculty or staff. Laptops generally have a battery life of 1 hour depending upon use (e.g.: using CD-ROM drive will use more battery power).

Wireless laptop cart reservations can be made by contacting the Computer Lab Coordinator by phone or email. Reservations are honored on a first-come first-served basis.

Library Wireless Laptops
A number of laptops with wireless internet access are available for student use in the Library. These laptops may be checked out and used in accordance with Library policy. Laptops generally have a battery life of 1 hour depending upon use (e.g.: using CD-ROM drive will use more battery power).
