The IT Department has created a request procedure for use of the plotter by interested on-campus faculty/staff/students, along with a fee schedule to defray materials costs and costs of operation of the plotter.
Because the plotter uses paper rolls instead of sheet feed, it is capable of printing images/documents up to 42" wide and as long as desired.
Two qualities of paper are available:
- Poster Paper - Heavy coated paper is available in 24", 36" and 42" wide format and is suitable for general signs, banners, diagrams, and posters.
This paper is priced at $1.00/square foot.
- Photo Paper - High quality glossy photo paper is available in 24", 36" and 42" wide format and is suitable for photographs, art prints, and high quality posters.
This paper is priced at $2.00/square foot.
Requests are limited to CUW Faculty, Staff, and Students for University related work or projects, and are handled by the IT HelpDesk, located in Rincker 103.
Procedure:
- Create the document in one of the following supported formats: (If you are unsure about creating large scale documents suitable for printing on the plotter, see one of the IT staff first.)
- Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Visio)
- Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, PDF)
- Graphic formats (tiff, jpeg, bmp, png, gif)
Please allow at least 1/2 inch margins on each side. Note: Only PC file formats are supported (the plotter does not support Mac printing).
- Complete the IT Print Request form (opposite side of this page) and submit it, along with the document to be printed, to the IT HelpDesk. If request is being paid by a CUW department account number, please obtain authorized signature first. Personal Requests are to be paid in the Cashiers Office and a copy of the receipt will be attached to this form.
- IT Staff will review your request and will contact you if there are questions or problems. Once the request is approved, the document will be printed as requested.
- When you are notified of completion, payment arrangements must be taken care of before pickup.
Please allow at least 24 hours for processing.
