Over the past few years, Concordia, particularly in the area of telecommunications, has undergone many new changes. One new change is in the area of wiring. It is Telecom's job to assist in wiring all student resident halls for network service. For this current school year all of Concordia on campus students, if they have their own computer, have access to network internet and email. This service is faster than residential service.
Concordia provides unified phone service to it's entire campus. Students no longer have to call Ameritech each school year and have their phone connected at a large fee. They no longer pay connections fees, monthly charges for phone service, or extra charges for current technology features like call waiting, three way calling, Caller ID, and voice mail.
When a student comes on campus they have phone service waiting for them, including all the previously mentioned features. We are also proud to offer a true 7 day a week, 24 hour a day flat rate for long distance, and four digit dialing to anyone on campus.
Other benefits from Concordia's new phone system are: security, (against prank calls and illegal PIN use,) and Emergency Notification, (we can leave targeted voicemail messages for either or both Staff/Students in the event of an emergency).
