The Athletic Training Student Association (ATSA) is preparing to begin its sixth full year of existence in alliance with the Student Government Association. The ATSA membership grows every year in numbers as we have a record number of freshman students enrolling into the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). Since the clubs inception we have volunteered for several community initiatives such as the Presidents 5K Run/Walk, The Greater Midwest Gymnastics Challenge, Special Olympics of Milwaukee, a fall health fair, and many high school tournaments and events. In addition, the club has sponsored an annual alumni & friends of CUW Athletic Training cookout and an ATEP Annual Banquet. Because of SGA the ATSA has been able to purchase many valuable athletic training educational materials as well as equipment which aids in the operation of the athletic training facility.
ATSA Mission Statement:
To further the education of the athletic training student by means of providing a wide variety of educational opportunites and experiences, thus aiding in preparation for a career in the athletic training profession. In addition, to provide health care services to Concordia University's community.
The members of the ATSA are involved in the state association called the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers Association (WATA). Each student is a member of WATA and most attend the annual symposium. ATSA members are proactive in the educational endeavors and SGA has helped in making this a reality.
