The Foundry

The Foundry is a club of writers, for writers. It is a group of writers that get together to discuss the subject of writing. Any member can bring his or her own writing into a meeting to be discussed. Also, any member may make a comment on someone else’s writing. We also discuss our favorite stories, poetry, drama, and songs. It's a great place to meet fun people and share inspiration.

Mission Statement:

  1. Provides a supportive, critical forum for students interested in sharing and improving their poetry, fiction, and/or nonfiction writing;
  2. Produces and distributes the Aerie, a book of poetry, short stories, essays, and artwork contributed to by the students of CUW.

Sponsored and Hosted Activities in 2005-06:

  1. The Aerie  (December and April)
  2. Campus-wide movie nights showing movies based on books (biannually)
  3. Sonnet Sale for Valentine's Day (February)
  4. Meetings (weekly)
  5. Poetry Readings and open mic nights at local businesses (occasionally)
