USA FlagAssistance with processing your education benefits can be found in the Adult Education Office, S103.  Barb Ellmaker (262.243.4350) is the Certifying Official for all students attending the Mequon Campus, E-Learning students, and all Concordia adult education and graduate students attending Learning Centers in Wisconsin. You can also call your local county's Veteran's Affairs Office for assistance.

They can help you determine your eligibility for benefits, or call the VA direct at 888-442-4551.  Adult Education students attending classes in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, St. Louis or New Orleans should contact their center or the VA 800 number for assistance.

After you apply on line, drop off, mail or fax the Military Benefit Worksheet with a copy of your DD-214 or NOBE so we can start a VA file for you.

GI BILL (chapter 30 - Active Duty, chapter 31 - vocational rehabilitation and employment, 1606-Selected Reserve, 1607-Reserve and called to active duty)

Applications for the GI Bill can be found on-line at  http://www.va.gov/vaforms/

If you have never used your education benefits you need form 22-1990.  You can apply on line, but you need to print out the signature page and mail it in.  If you have used your education benefits at another school, you need form 22-1995.  Let the Certifying Official know after you have applied.

After you have applied for benefits and are enrolled in classes, you must verify each month at  https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/default.cfm.   The VA takes several weeks to update this site after we send them the information so keep checking.  If the information you find in WAVE does not match the number of credits you are taking, please notify the Certifying Official.

The checks will be mailed to you or deposited in the account you put on your VA application form.  You are responsible for paying your tuition and it may be necessary for you to apply for financial aid  to pay your tuition until the VA reimburses you.  See the following web site for financial aid information. http://studentaid.ed.gov/students/publications/student_guide/index.html

If you change your residence make sure you contact the VA at 888-442-4551 with your new address.  Checks from the VA can not be forwarded by the post office, they will be returned to the VA.
