Elizabeth Evans serves as the Director of Accelerated Learning for adult undergraduate business programs in the School of Business and Legal Studies, with the rank of Assistant Professor. In this role she develops curriculum, develops adjunct faculty, oversees the E-Learning programs, and assesses student learning in the Business Management, Human Resource Management, and Health Care Management majors. Elizabeth came to Concordia in 1998 as the Center Director at the Sherman Park Center (now Midtown) in Milwaukee and then became program director for the business programs in the School of Adult Education in 2001. In the academic reorganization of January 2009, Elizabeth moved to the School of Business and Legal Studies. She also assists with curriculum development and assessment for other programs in the School of Business and Legal Studies.
Prior to working in education, Elizabeth had a 15 year career in the insurance industry, including seven years of claims litigation management. Elizabeth’s academic interests focus on organizational studies and leadership. She is currently a student of Adult Education and Communication while working on a PhD in the Urban Doctoral Education Program at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her dissertation will focus on peer faculty leadership of outcomes assessment in higher education. She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology/ Social Work from Carroll College, and a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership of Adult and Continuing Education with a focus on Human Resource Development from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.
Elizabeth is the author of several adult undergraduate courses including Philosophy of Values and Ethics, Social Psychology in the Workplace, and Managing Change. She also teaches Student Success Strategies, How Adults Learn, Intercultural Communication, and Interpersonal Communication.
