Dr. Kevin Voss joined the professional staff and faculty of Concordia University Wisconsin in August of 2003.  His credentials include earning two specialized certificates during his doctoral program at Saint Louis University. He received the Certificate of Empirical Research Methods in Descriptive Ethics and a Certificate in University Teaching Skills. When Voss earns his Ph.D., he will be one of only a few select people in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and in the nation, to hold a doctorate in Health Care Ethics.

He has taught classes to grade school students all the way up to the Ph.D. level. Voss has given many presentations on bioethical topics to churches and hospitals. He is certified in, and has assisted with, teaching research ethics at Saint Louis University and was a full-board member of the Human Studies Committee (IRB) of Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis.

Voss' recent publications include: "Conflict between Families and Providers: Avoiding Treatment Disputes," Health Care Ethics USA, 2003; "Online Peer Commentary:  One Field, Many Disciplines, One Goal," American Journal of Bioethics, Fall 2002; "Stem cell research: A Hot topic in Healthcare," Cross and Caduceus, February 2002; and "Access to Information from Medical Records and Tissue Repositories - What are IRB's to Do?" Human Studies Committee Newsletter, Fall 2001.

During the past year, Voss served on the Executive Committee for the Center for Health Care Ethics. He holds professional memberships in the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities.

Dr. Voss is a native of Brillion, Wisconsin. In 1982, Voss married his wife, Kaye, whose hometown is Bonduel. They have two children, Rachel (18) and Ryan (17).
