Professor Stolt came to teach at Concordia University Wisconsin in January 1992. She was hired to teach in the Social Work Department and serve as the Field Coordinator and Liaison. Prior to teaching, Ms. Stolt was employed in health care and long term care. Hospital Social Work included roles as a Discharge Planner and Counselor in the Sexual Assault Treatment Center in urban hospital setting. Other roles in this setting included working with older adults in a Day Treatment program for persons with Alzheimer’s disease.
Following work in a medical setting, Ms. Stolt was employed at a Continuing Care Facility for Older Adults. She served as Director of Social Services for the entire complex ranging from Skilled Nursing care to Assisted Living and Independent Living. A major focus was direct practice with residents and their families. The issues ranged from adjustment issues to loss, grief, death and dying. Staff education was also a part of her work as she presented various workshops to staff, volunteers, and community groups related to various topics of aging.
Ms. Stolt completed her MSW at University Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1983. Her current area of interest is in working with hospice patients and in the area of bereavement counseling. In 2002, she completed the required coursework toward her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy at Marquette University.
