Rev. Timothy Maschke is the Harry R. and June J. Rouse Professor of Pre-Seminary Studies and Recruitment at Concordia University Wisconsin, where he has served since 1982. Prior to coming to Concordia, Dr. Maschke served parishes in Illinois. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1974 with a M.Div. degree and in 1981 earned an S.T.M. from the same school in Systematic Theology. In 1984 he earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His dissertation project was a study of Lutheran liturgical worship on a Christian College campus. In 1993, a Ph.D. in Historical Theology was conferred by Marquette University, where he studied under the Reformation theologian, Kenneth Hagen, and wrote a dissertation entitled, "The Understanding and Use of Allegory in the Lectures on the Epistle of Saint Paul to the Galatians by Doctor Martin Luther." He was also awarded the Ronald L Berg Faculty Laureate Award in 1993 by the faculty of Concordia University Wisconsin.

Dr. Maschke teaches courses in biblical, doctrinal, historical, and practical theology, with special interests in Luther and Lutheran Worship. Book reviews by Dr. Maschke appear in various scholarly journals. He is managing editor of Luther Digest, an annual abridgement of Luther scholarship, and is a member of several scholarly societies including the American Academy of Religion and the Sixteenth Century Scholars.

Dr. Maschke is a popular speaker for youth gatherings, pastoral conferences, and women's organizations.

He and his wife, Sharon, have three sons (Jedidiah, Benjamin, and Nathanael) and reside in nearby Grafton, Wisconsin. In the summer, he enjoys fishing with his family and friends, gardening, and beermaking.
