Concordia University Wisconsin has hired Joseph Malinauskas as director of its Waukesha Center, university officials announced this week.
Malinauskas began his new role March 21. As director, he is in charge of promoting the adult accelerated programs offered at the center and has full responsibility of its operations, including the delivery of Concordia University’s bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Concordia’s Waukesha Center, located at N14W23777 Stone Ridge Drive, is one of 10 centers located throughout Wisconsin and St. Louis that offer accelerated learning programs in areas that make a Concordia education more accessible to students who don’t live near the University’s main Mequon campus.
“We are excited to welcome Joe to our team,” said Rochelle Regenauer, executive director of Centers and Accelerated Programs. “He brings a wealth of experience not only to the University but the community.”
Malinauskas is a 1992 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy where he majored in political science. He also holds master’s degrees in Public Administration from Troy State University and in Management Studies from the U.S. Marine Corps War College. Before joining CUW’s team, Malinauskas served in the United States Coast Guard for 25 years. During his career, he served as commanding officer, executive officer, and operations officer at various units before retiring as a commander.
“It is my goal to continue the fine traditions of Concordia University in fostering the continued education of its adult students at the Waukesha Learning Center as well as developing new connections in the community that provide meaningful and beneficial relationships,” Malinauskas said.
