CUW Teams Up With American Legion Post 1881 to Host A Care Package Drive for Soldiers

Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW), in conjunction with the newly formed American Legion Post 1881 on CUW’s Mequon campus, is sponsoring Operation Falcon Support, a care package drive through June 16. The drive will benefit CUW student Wilmer Valladares, a Business Management major at the Green Bay Center, and his battalion in the 950th Combat Engineer Division of the Wisconsin National Guard. They were deployed to Afghanistan back in Dec., 2014.

Items being collected include health and hygiene products, and non-perishable food. Anyone interested in donating to Operation Falcon Support can do so at one of Concordia’s nine Centers in Wisconsin, which includes: Milwaukee Midtown, Miller Park Way, Beloit, Madison, Kenosha, Mequon, Appleton, Waukesha, and Green Bay.

"We have an opportunity to show our student and his battalion that we remember and appreciate what they are doing for our nation," says Eduardo Garza, direct of CUW Veterans Services. "We are going to support him and all of our Wisconsin troops, until they all come home."
