The Writing Center has two locations:

  • Learning Resource Center (LRC) LU 200
  • Library (at the circular reference desk)

Writing Center hours vary per semester. View availability at tutortrac.cuw.edu. Or stop by the LRC (LU 200) Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm to set up a Consultation.

Become a Writing Consultant

If you’re looking to lend your pen, we’re looking for you.

Future Writing Consultants consultants must have:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • An A- or better in English 104 or English 245
  • An A- or better in English 251: Practicum in Writing Consultation

English 251: Practicum in Writing Consultation

English 251 is offered every Fall semester and covers:

  • Writing center methods
  • Basic and advanced writing theories
  • Essays by influential writing center theorists, including Stephen North, Andrea Lunsford, and Lisa Ede
  • Tutoring theories
  • Application of tutoring theories through in-class discussions and presentations
