Emerging Scholars Program

The Concordia University “Emerging Scholars Program” (ESP) is a 5 semester associates program for high school graduates between the ages of 18 – 23 who seek a better life through a faith-based higher education.

What We Offer

If you are a student looking to further your education with a conveniently located campus, a cohort based curriculum, and a committed staff, the Emerging Scholars Program is for you. Our program has been uniquely designed to give you the additional support and guidance needed to be a successful Emerging Scholar. By becoming a Concordia University– Emerging Scholar student, you will be provided the following:

  • An affordable private education focused on Christian principals
  • A degree from CUW, an accredited institution, and a path to your Bachelor's or other professional aspirations
  • Onsite computer lab
  • Friday S.O.S. sessions (Scholastic Focus, Opportunity to Study, Plan, and Learn. Leading to Success)
  • Small class sizes (15 to 20)
  • Book loan program ($0 cost to you for books)
  • Onsite academic advising, support, and tutoring
  • Supplemental skill development
  • “Real World” instructors that:
    • Have a Masters degree or Doctorate
    • Are experts and work in their chosen field

  • Regular Advising meetings
  • Summer Pre College Orientation
  • Cohort based Instruction
  • Class 4 days a week  (Mon – Thurs)
  • The ability to participate in the following activities/services at the CUW-Mequon campus:
    • Student Life

    • Intercollegiate Athletics
    • Counselors
    • Co-Curricular Activities (lectures, concerts, dances, exhibits, forums, musicals, clubs, and intramurals)

Admission Requirements

  • 0 – 2.49 GPA
  • 15 or above ACT
  • High School Diploma
  • Two letters of recommendation from adults, not including parents or relatives
  • 1 to 2 page essay
  • Interview with the Emerging Scholar’s Director

  • Milwaukee Midtown

Programs

The goal is for every Emerging Scholars Program student to earn their associate’s degree from one of the following program offerings:

  • Business Management
  • Criminal Justice

Who Can Apply
