When: December 2 & 3, 2017
Where: Ann Arbor, Michigan

Schedule

Saturday, December 2

This morning we leave CUW campus at 7am. We board our deluxe motor coach and travel around the southern tip of Lake Michigan to Ann Arbor, MI. After checking in to our hotel and some time to get a bite to eat, we take our reserved seats at the Boar’s Head Festival in The Chapel of the Holy Trinity on CUAA’s central campus. The production has been staged at CUAA since 1978, when three professors brought the European festival to the campus. Through the years, the Christian Church has transformed the symbolic festival into a service of praise in celebration of the nativity. Overnight accommodations are in Ann Arbor.

Sunday, December 3

Our day begins with a drive to the German village of Frankenmuth and the morning worship service at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. We are treated to an included luncheon at the Bavarian Inn, well known for their chicken dinners with all the trimmings. Then we are off to the amazing Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store. It is the size of 1 1/2 football fields and is overflowing with 50,000 trims and gifts. Mid-afternoon finds us departing Frankenmuth, crossing the lower portion of Michigan and returning to Wisconsin. This little getaway is sure to put us in the Christmas spirit. (B,L)
