Sal Bando
Former Major Leaguer, Baseball Executive and Businessman

Sal Bando played 15 years in the Major Leagues. Ten seasons with the Oakland A’s and five seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. While Sal was a member of the A’s he was captain for eight of the ten seasons and played a major role in the A’s winning three consecutive World Championships from 1972 to 1974. Sal was named to four All-Star Teams and still ranks as the Oakland A’s all-time leader in games played (1410) and RBI’s (789).

In 1977 Sal signed with the Milwaukee Brewers as a Free Agent and at the time it was considered a major signing for the Brewers. Sal served five years as the team's Captain. Sal became the team’s Senior Vice President and General Manager and served in the Front Office for another eight years.

Actively involved in Milwaukee’s business community he and former Bucks star, Jon McGlocklin formed Bando McGlocklin Capital Corporation. Sal has served on the Boards of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and are members of The Veritas Society of Wisconsin Right To Life. Along with his wife Sandy, Sue and Bud Selig and some other community leaders they helped start the Child Abuse Prevention Fund.

Sal attended Arizona State University where he starred in baseball and was the MVP of their 1965 College World Series Championship Team. He was drafted by the Kansas City A’s in 1965. Sal was born in Cleveland, Ohio and he and Sandy have three sons.
