Concordia is proud to announce that Assistant Professor of Education, Dr. Bernard Bull, has been chosen to attend the Thrivent Fellow Program beginning in June. The purpose of the rigorous 12-month leadership fellowship is to grow the leadership capacity of the agencies and institutions of The Lutheran Church and to identify, encourage, develop, and equip high capacity senior leaders for key roles.

Candidates were selected based on their dedication to the mission and distinctiveness of Lutheran colleges, seminaries and universities, a strong record of service to these agencies and institutions, a clear potential for top-level leadership, and on their vocational call to lead these important agencies and institutions.

“I am honored and excited to participate in this learning community.  Lutheran education is such an important part of my life, and I hope to take full advantage of this opportunity to grow in my understanding of faithful and effective leadership in Lutheran higher education,” said Dr. Bull.

Through intensive retreats and seminars, Fellows will gain: increased knowledge and understanding of Lutheran traditions and values, stronger awareness of their own leadership capacities, thorough knowledge of key management issues in these complex enterprises, perspective on personal and professional goals that will equip them to fulfill their calling, a plan for professional growth, and an expanded network of relationships with other Lutheran higher education leaders.
