Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) is proud to announce that three of the five teacher of the year recognitions recently announced through the South Wisconsin District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) are graduates from the University’s School of Education.
John Ellenberger of Milwaukee Lutheran High School was awarded high school teacher of the year. He completed his bachelor’s degree at CUW and is finishing up his master’s degree in education administration at the University.
Jennifer (Johnson) Comfort of St. John’s Lutheran School in Glendale was awarded the elementary educator of the year award. She completed her bachelor’s degree at CUW, along with her colloquy.
Michelle (DeMaster) Pingel of Bethlehem Lutheran School in Sheboygan was named one of the early childhood educators of the year. She also completed her bachelor’s degree at CUW.
“The School of Education is very proud of these alumni and it underscores an intention to equip students for service to Christ in the Church and the world,” said Dr. Michael Uden, dean of CUW’s School of Education. “These graduates of our program have certainly lived out that mission in a dynamic way."
