Concordia University Wisconsin has been designated as a drop-off site for unused or outdated prescription medication drugs, part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, students, faculty, staff, and members of the public are invited to dispose of their expired or unwanted prescription drugs in a responsible manner. Medications can be dropped off at Concordia’s Pharmacy Building (drive-thru conveniently located in the parking lot in front of the building) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
CUW pharmacy faculty members and students are partnering with the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office and the Mequon Police Department to ensure the drugs are then disposed of safely.
Concordia was designated as a drop-off site in April as well. More than 25 boxes, or 620 pounds, of prescription medications were collected from both the Concordia site and Ozaukee’s municipal medication drop boxes earlier this year.
