"Christ the King" Concert on Sunday, November 20th

Concordia University will present its annual “Christ the King” Celebration in the Chapel of Christ Triumphant, 12800 North Lake Shore Drive, on Sunday, November 20 at 3:30 p.m.

“Christ the King” is celebrated the last Sunday of Pentecost, before the beginning of Advent which signifies the start of the new Church Year.  Kammerchor, the university’s 45-voice traveling choir under the direction of Dr. Alexa Doebele, will join in concert with the 14-member Alleluia Ringers handbell choir.  The Alleluia Ringers, who ring 73 handbells and 79 handchimes, are directed by Mr. Mark Bluedow.  Both of the choirs have traveled internationally over the years – The Alleluia Ringers have toured Germany and Norway on three occasions, while Kammerchor performed in Italy last spring, including a concert at The Vatican in Rome.  Admission to the concert is $8 for adults, and FREE for individuals 17 and under.

Less than two weeks later, on Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3, all Concordia music ensembles will come together to perform in the annual “Christmas at Concordia.”  Adult admission for that longstanding 7:30 p.m. holiday concert in the chapel is $15 (FREE for those 17 and under) and all tickets must be reserved in advance. E-mail or reserve tickets by using Concordia’s automated ticket line, at 262-243-4243.
