Concordia to host 5th Annual Society of Creation Conference

“The Age of the Earth” is the theme of the 5th annual Society of Creation Conference at Concordia University’s Mequon campus, 12800 North Lake Shore Drive, July 7-8.  Co-hosts of the conference are Dr. Gary Locklair, computer science chairman, and Dr. Joel Heck, a former longtime professor at Concordia.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Don DeYoung, chair of the science and mathematics department at Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana; and Dr. Russ Humphreys, who worked for Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico for more than 20 years.  Sandia is one of two major U.S. Department of Energy research and development national laboratories. Also speaking is Mr. Jay Seegert (The Starting Point Project): "Creation, Evolution & the Authority of Scripture" and "Creation in Six Days? A Biblical & Scientific Analysis".

De Young will speak on “Our Nearest Neighbor, The Moon – Origin, Design and Age,” while Humphreys talks include, “God’s Big Magnets In The Sky Say The World Is Young.”

Conference registration fees before June 8 are $65 per person, or $120 for the family, with a $5 individual and $10 family loyalty discount for having attended prior conferences.  On-campus housing is available at $35 per night.
